1 CLEAN SWEEP Chimney Service

I'm not one to usually leave negative reviews. I'm leaving this review hoping to help another homeowner...
We purchased a home in September 2021 Derek came out to the property and was great. Completed the inspection and found both chimneys have had fires in them at some point and the old clay liners were in poor condition. There was also a decent checklist of items needed at the roofline and above on the chimney. I literally had to follow up at least four times over the course of three or four weeks just to get the estimates. I didn't think too much about this as it is probably their busiest time

Inspection and cleaning was scheduled and completed without issue. Chimney integrity Issues were uncovered during the inspection, some being listed as “urgent”. After completing the proposal for repairs and providing downpayment, I have not had any of my calls, voicemails, texts, or emails returned. It has now been two weeks.. I’m going to have to cancel my check to avoid losing hundreds of dollars because I can’t even verify that it’s been received. Communication is simple and critical, but seemingly a challenge for this business.

Honest, professional, quick, efficient, willing to show what he is doing and why, and great pricing for a chimney cleaning and inspection. He even had a bolt break in the stove that I warned him about ahead of time and I would gladly fix it after. He took the extra step to fix and replace it himself with a stainless bolt any way. What more could you ask for in a company? See you next season Derek!

I had an inspection and they were on time. Derek was very good with details and I paid the $75.00 for the inspection. He told me he would have a quote to me that evening with 2 options. I have yet to receive the quote, and I've left him a message as well. Have not heard back, so I don't know what I did to make him ignore me. He did cash the check though. Hmm

Came and performed inspection of our chimney when we moved into the house last year. We ordered an animal guard and paid money $125 upfront for the animal guard. This was in November 2020. Have not heard from this company since despite several calls.

I am very impressed with Derek's professionalism and he is extremely pleasant to work with. His website allowed me to schedule the appointment online - so helpful! - and then I got two text reminders of the appointment. He ran very slightly late and called to notify me of this. His evaluation of our aging chimney was exactly what I needed and he gave me some alternatives for approaching the structural and code issues he identified. I was thoroughly satisfied with Derek's work and intend to hire him to do the remediation of these problems.

We had some pretty extensive exterior brick damage, and a cracked chimney liner that needed replacing. Derek fit us into his very busy fall schedule (schedule your cleanings for the spring) to get the work done before wood stove season. He went above and beyond to color match our new bricks to the existing ones, and worked into the dark to finish our tricky chimney liner. Our chimney looks great again, can’t wait to fire it up tonight! Derek is very respectful and cleans up any mess that is made in the process.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Derek. He was timely, clearly knew his craft, and went out of his way to make sure everything was not only clean, and in good shape, but up to code. His inspections were thorough and he communicated what he found so that we could create a plan to address all my concerns. And then he did just that— promptly and efficiently. What more could you ask for?! He is a good communicator and he takes a lot of pride in his work. I'd call him again without hesitation.
