American Solar has been maintaining my solar hot water system for many years. I discovered a serious leak in the hot water heater fed by the solar system yesterday and called Joel at American Solar. He came today (the next day) and installed a new Rheem smart water heater. Outstanding and very timely service. They also actually understand and support the 40 year old system that I have. And the cost was quite reasonable. Simply awesome!

We have used American Solar for many years. We have a solar panel on our roof and a solar hot water tank, plus a natural gas hot water tank.
Our solar tank and the natural gas tank was at least 30 year old and needed replacement. Joel replaced both systems perfectly. The job was finished 11/8/2019.
The price was good.
Joel, the Solar Doctor, clearly has the knowledge and experience needed, to get the job done.
He was honest and sincere. He answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I feel I could trust him to do a great job, at a fair price.

I recently used American Solar (Joel) to install a new solar swimming pool system after a recent roof replacement. I had solar system on the roof prior to the new roof for twenty years so I knew how well they worked. Joel and his Team came in and did an outstanding job. I thought I knew pool solar until I met Joel. He has a wealth of experience in solar and excellent workmanship. The time he took explaining the products and reason for selection plus answering any questions couldn't have been better. He took great care installing the panels on our roof and the installation looks perfect

Since 2008, Joel has done several thermal solar jobs for me. He is top notch. He is the 'go to guy' for solar thermal troubleshooting and repairs in northern virginia and the DC area. I had a ten panel array with glass panels used to heat an indoor pool all year long. On one job, I needed a new roof. Joel dismantled the entire array, then came back and re-installed it when the new roof was finished. I was very pleased with the work.

American Solar of Sterling Va has serviced both of our solar sysstems for over 20 years.
They installed our hot water system in 1991 and our solar pool heating system in 1996, and have kept both in tip top shape ever since.
One snowy icy Sunday in January they even came to our home when we
had no hot water (which turned out to be the electric water heater, not the solar,
but the solar panels were covered with snow so they couldn't make any hot water for us.) They took care of us right away. I don't any other company that would come out on a cold snowy Sunday to help a customer, but they did
