Services
There is no rock or consistently solid ground for thousands of feet below the ground, the soil here is very expansive clay. This soil contracts and expands drastically with moisture changes in the soil, the subsoil layer (approximately 5 to 20 feet below the surface) is extremely unstable. We have commonly found very hard, dry soil when drilling one hole, then very moist soil when drilling the next hole just a few feet away.
Depending upon the project requirements, there are several different pier designs and sizes to choose from. In general, these piers can extend to depths between 6 to 12 feet, or to rock. They are machine-drilled with the aid of an auger mounted to a skid-steer loader (Bobcat). For pier locations where access is limited and for interior piers, a smaller machine is used.

While often seen on public streets, catch basins are wonderful drainage options for many homeowners. But how do they help your home and property? If your home has poor drainage and heavy rainfall, these basins are a great option as they can take on large amounts of water at a time.

We were getting rain water in our house in our sunken in living room and we called WCK because I had heard they were the best foundation people in town and Jacob came out the next day to look at the problem. He correctly diagnosed the problem as a "low water table" and said we needed a drainage system to divert water from the house. We agreed on a price and they installed 15 catch basins on the back and side of my house with a drainage pipe that drained at the street. We haven't had water in our house since. I’m so pleased with this company. I dreaded what the cost foundation repairs done on my house was going to be. The WCK rep that came out and evaluated my damage was concerned with calming my anxiety from the beginning. Then he gave me an amazing quote! He then informed me that I didn’t even have to pay all at one time. They arranged for financing with no interest if paid in 18 months. Cannot say enough good things about this company and it’s employees! Very professional, thorough, organized, responsive and quick to take care of any issues. Communication was great, crews were hardworking, always on time (actually early) and cleaned up the job site after repairs were completed.

We are now selling the house and the foundation has cracked again and will cost about $4,000 to fix. WCK sells on the "lifetime warranty" which is apparently not true. Mike told us that he will "suspend the warranty" and not make repairs for free. He blamed us for the issue and stated "he does not know why he is talking to us." Very unprofessional and not a trustworthy company. Do not use this company.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality
Seriously cannot say how dissatisfied and hurt I am with the lack of professionalism shown to me and my realtor today by Mike. We are not foundation experts by any means, but we are certainly not morons as Mike pointed out to us. We will certainly be using a different company moving forward.

I had them out to give an estimate for work specified by a structural engineer. The salesman tried to upsell me an $11,000 pier installation based on an incorrectly calculated elevation change in my house. WCK measured a 4 inch drop over 50 feet which is less than a 0.5 degree angle, but presented the 4 inch drop as a major problem without considering the angle. When measuring an elevation change, high school geometry is important. This is well within the margin of error for a new foundation.

I cannot speak to the foundation services but do NOT use this business to fix drainage issues. I had (and still have) standing water in my backyard. WCK provided an estimate and subsequently installed catch basins and PVC pipe which was supposed to solve the problem. Not only did my backyard continue to hold water, but the catch basins are too shallow and within 3 months were completely filled with mud. When I contacted WCK, they said they do not provide any maintenance work. I was told, “we only install the catch basins - you will need to hire another company if they don’t work.” What?!

WCK just did some foundation and drainage work on our home is St. Francisville, LA (2-10-21). We found out about them through a Baton Rouge connection--they did work on a few houses in an older neighborhood across from Trader Joes in the BR. All of the good things our friend said about them were 100% truth. WOW, hardworking, polite, crew. Owner is wonderful. We had a torrential downpour the day after the work was done 2-11-21.
