Certified Arborists are individuals who specialize in the art and science of tree care. They are often referred to as the expert "tree doctors" of the environmental world, as they are trained to abide by guidelines established by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). In order for them to work for a licensed and insured tree service company, Certified Arborists are required to go through years of training and take an extensive exam.
RTEC Treecare is a tree service company that provides professional tree care and environmental services for residential, commercial, and government properties in the Northern Virginia, Washington DC Metro Area, and throughout the US. As a team, we've received 12 awards for Excellence in Arboriculture from the Tree Care Industry Association but that's not all.
Our Certified Arborists will consult with you and provide a written proposal for your tree care and environmental needs. You will receive a digital proposal along with a map of your property. Your property's information and trees will be tracked and maintained in our system. We will waive your travel fee if you mention how you heard about us.

RTEC was at my house today to removed a large Magnolia that was badly damaged by the recent snow. They did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. They arrived right on time, worked efficiently and quickly and cleaned up so well it was hard to tell anything have been disturbed. Over the past several years, I have used RTEC for all the services I checked above, and have always been very pleased with their service and professionalism. I also appreciate that they are not eager to take down trees that don't need to come down. In this case, the damage was too extensive for the tree to recover.

We’ve used RTEC for many years for tree maintenance and can’t say enough good things about their service. We use them for tree trimming and for regular treatments to maintain our trees’ health and deal with pests and prevent disease. Their arborist Ben has been especially helpful with advice. RTEC also been especially helpful in emergency situations, once coming to cable a massive, heritage oak in our yard right before a hurricane was about to hit. Highly recommend.

Our experience with RTEC was great. The arborist (Ben) was knowledgeable, informative, and not pushy at all. Great follow up and response time. The crew that completed the work was punctual and professional. The health of our trees is important to us, so we really felt at ease knowing that the proper equipment and technique was being used. All the people I talked to at RTEC Treecare were friendly, professional and knew their business. I had a big tree growing over my house that unfortunately died. RTEC, as expected from their reviews, did a great job from the arborist to the guys who took away the wood. They took care and cleaned up our yard. I would use them again next time we need work done.

Starting with Ben's visit and honest assessment using his education and extensive experience, and a clear explanation of my needs, to helpful and efficient office staff, and most importantly - an excellent job tree trimming where clean up was immaculate, the experience was terrific. I have worked with RTEC for about 10 years and the company has been wonderful. In particular, my main contact has been with the arborist Ben who has educated me, given me great advice, and always been fully invested when I have had work done. From start to finish, RTEC has been 100% professional, highly skilled, and easy to work with. Our experience started with Charlotte, the ISA Certified Arborist who came to assess the trees on our property after we saw aphids on our crepe myrtles. She assessed everything with a practiced eye -- including some sort of boring insect that was chewing up an oak tree that was hanging over a neighbor's house. She created a proposal that was flexible and met our needs. Nick handled the scheduling of the crew and answered all of our questions. We had to "borrow" our neighbors driveway for the truck, and

The team arrived on time and did clear the biggest dead tree branches and trim them but they did no trim any of the shrubs or remove smaller tree branches that had been damaged by the cicadas. They were always polite and professional and very careful to clear up all their trimmed materials. I think I should have remained home instead of relying on my shy housemate to manage the servicing team by herself. I would definitely hire RTEC Treecare a third time - we had excellent previous experience with RTEC removing a tree that fell through our roof during a storm.
