Most Homes built before 1980 were required to have solid hardwood flooring installed in order to get FHA financing. The type of wood used was usually oak in random widths typically 3/4, 1/2", 3/8" and 5/16" thickness. These types of custom solid hardwood flooring can usually be refinished up to five times if done by a professional.

I've known John Rouse for years. Seen many of the floors he's installed and or repaired/restored. His work speaks for itself. I've also seen him deal with customers and personally seen him go above and beyond to make sure his customers are happy at the end of the day. I've listened to him try to be accommodating to customers and work hard to meet various needs of customers. I have referred him to friends and seen the beautiful results of his work. An upright guy.

Floors shine like new. Knowledgeable and experienced team. They diagnosed the state of the flooring easily, and we discussed a number of options before settling on a clean/buff/recoat. Competitive value for that service, they also patched a few gaps in the floors and cleaned some errant paint.

I knew I wanted to replace or refinish whatever wood floors were under the laminate wood floors in my 1920’s bungalow with addition. So many possibilities as to what we might find, what it would cost, what type of product, method of installation, etc. It was a real challenge. I got quotes from three different contractors with widely different prices, materials and methods of installation.
When I first called John I felt he was experienced and knew what he was talking about. He gave me some ballpark $/sf figures for removing, replacing, restoring and refinishing, which held true to the end.

Really enjoyed working with John and his team through our floor rehab process. We operated on a tight timeline trying to coordinate multiple contractors for various phases of work and I appreciated that they were able to get their work done according to the agreed upon timeline. We used RYF to restore the Douglas Fir subfloor in our living and dining rooms and Oak in our hallway and bedrooms. We were very impressed with the final result!
John, the owner, and Luciano, the lead on the project, were both extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Both took the time to thoroughly educate and explain to us the work and cost of restoring our hardwood floors and installing baseboards with quarter rounds. John even took the time to call me on a Sunday morning to make sure I understood everything. Luciano was such a hard worker, even showing up at 4 am the last day to apply the final
