Services
Hardwood flooring is one of the most sophisticated, durable, and longest lasting flooring types you can have in your home. When properly maintained, it can last a lifetime and become even more beautiful and charming as the color of the wood changes over time. For these reasons and more, a hardwood floor will generally increase a home's property value.
Carter Wood Floors is Orange County and Los Angeles County's best choice for commercial hardwood floor services. We are licensed, insured, and entirely dedicated to wood flooring. All of our work is performed by our team of expert craftsmen, sanders, coaters, and installers--never subcontractors--and supervised by our owner who has over 43 years of experience.
Installing hardwood on your stairs not only looks elegant, but also lasts much longer than carpet. In fact, while carpeting generally needs to be replaced every 10 to 12 years, hardwood stairs can last a lifetime with proper maintenance, making it an excellent investment. To add hardwood to your staircase, call the professionals at Carter Wood Floors.
Carter Wood Floors provides Los Angeles and Orange County with the best value in high-quality, custom hardwood flooring sales and installation. Since 1981, we have served the flooring needs of thousands of home and business owners, giving them beautiful, long-lasting hardwood floors at very competitive prices.
When it comes to hardwood flooring, nothing compares to the beauty and character of old growth wood. Old growth hardwood floors, primarily seen in homes and offices built before 1950, were typically fabricated from fully mature trees, which exude richness and charm. Today, most hardwood floors are made out of wood harvested from much younger trees that often can't match the unique quality seen in older floors.

I have used Carter Wood Floor company twice, each time they did an excellent job. First time they restored the original wood floors in my 1924 Spanish Colonial kitchen which turned out beautiful. This time they are restoring the vintage Red Oak in Living, dining and hallway. Well they did it again, it looks so beautiful I want to do the rest of my house. I highly recommend Carter’s “they are the Best”.

Editing my review. Floors are great but I’m upset how I got swindled with only a $175 discount when the workers ruined my vintage glass doors. I learned now that these doors are expensive.
Just learn that the most basic doors with no glass cost $700.00 Carter is making no effort to make things right after he knowingly took advantage of my lack of knowledge on how much these doors really cost to replace.

No reason to go into details since it will be my word against theirs but, suffice to say I would not recommend them. They did a good job with the repair work, hence the 2 stars but, the finish is another story. Wish I knew what I know now when they finished my floors 4 years ago.

Carter refinished our original floors in a 1918 craftsman home (not all the floors were that old, but some were). They did a pretty good job, the floors look good. They are good are replacing boards that are badly damaged but you won't get the same grain structure. We had several holes from old outlets that were repaired, you can tell the spots, but that's to be expected. We also had two floor heater vents from the old furnace that were each about 5 sq ft that had to be re-floored. One they covered just fine, the other they didn't lay the sub-floor plywood at the right height and thus the area
