Services
Since launching in 2001, we've grown to become the Tri-Valley region's leading provider of high-performance solar solutions. From our headquarters in San Ramon, our expert solar installation team services the Greater Bay Area, including Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, San Joaquin, Santa Clara, and San Jose.
Our President, Bob Winn brings over 30 years of business management to Sky Power Solar and a vision focused on enabling a future powered by economical, clean solar energy. Bob is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Business and has lived with his wife and three kids for 30 years in the Bay Area.
As your local SunPower Elite Dealer, Sky Power Solar has many options to help you start saving money from roof mount or ground mount solar, to solar for electric vehicles or pool heating, to affordable solar financing options. As your local SunPower Elite Dealer in the East Bay, we're proud to offer you solar panels with the highest efficiency in the industry.
If you want to keep the lights on, you have to pay whatever PG&E is charging for electricity. Rates keep going up - with no end in sight. This means you'll continue spending more and more of your hard earned money every month. The good news is that Bay Area homes are excellent candidates for solar electric systems.
The Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), or Solar Tax Credit, is a generous incentive that allows you to claim a 26% tax credit when you install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels. Think of the solar tax credit as a "gift card" from Uncle Sam. It represents real money that makes going solar even more affordable than it already is.

Skypower did a great job for us - they delivered on every promise. We had an awful, terrible experience with another solar vendor, which wasted a year of our time (and electric bills). We fired them and hired Skypower, and we are thrilled that we did.
I am an electric engineer (specializing in something much different than solar), and I can confirm that I was not being sold something I did not need. In my first week of net metering I am generating more than I use, when the heat sets (and using AC) in we will be close to very zero - which is the goal.
We went with the Sunpower panels and micro

Great service. Everything was fully explained up-front. The installation went without a hitch. Now I’m making electricity while the sun shines. I recommend Sky Power unreservedly.

Great experience. Their salesman was very down-to-earth with no gimmicky pitches or pressures. Price and quality of panels surpassed all other bids I received (5 total). Most noticeable was their consistent level of customer support from sales to inspectors to installers. Very impressive. I highly recommend.

Very good experience. Good communication throughout the process, the installers were all nice and very professional, and the system seems to be working as advertised.

I am very happy so far! Everything went well with the installation. I had compared two companies and went with sky power, which I felt had a better price, solar panel product and overall package of warranties. I used the zero interest loan for 12 mo. (for the amount that I will get back in tax credit) which made the initial invest seem more manageable.

Sky Power Solar was very professional. They answered all our questions and provided plenty of documentation before and after installation. They installed on the scheduled day and finished by the end of that day. Except for a few communication issues, everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend them.

I purchased my first system from Sky Power in 2011 and that was a great experience, from the design/modeling thru the installation and final hand-off. When I was in the market recently for another new solar installation, I reached out to Sky Power in addition to the other two larger installers - SunRun and Solarcity. Though the initial consultation was good, the level of details and efforts around ensuring the customer requirements (cost, consumption/usage, esthetics, etc.) was nowhere as committed or involved as Sky Power. The time they spent on ensuring the slope, angle and space available on

Beware - Don't use if you are a PG&E customer. The system they designed for me had me giving over $100,000 in free electricity to PG&E over the life of the system. The way they design systems is for PG&E old rate plans, not the current ones. I can't tell if there sales people are just trying grossly over sell for the commission or if they are just poorly trained. I have found other companies know how to design systems properly saving me over $10,000.
