Furniture Specialties was started in 1988 by a husband and wife team in Asheville, NC. In 2004, Bryan Fore, CEO, purchased the struggling company, which has 2 employees and primarily focused on upholstery.
In the years to come, Bryan launched the manufacturing division of the company to include a custom furniture line. Over the next few years, Furniture Specialties grew exponentially, requiring a larger facility to meet demand. At the beginning of 2010, Furniture Specialties purchased 3 acres and a new manufacturing facility in Asheville, NC.

After an initial phone call and questionnaire, An Interior Designer will meet with you, one-on-one, to discuss your ultimate vision-whether it be for one space or an entire home! This initial consultation will cover the scope of your project, including design style, budget, costs and design fees for all requested services.

A friend recommended Furniture Specialties a few years ago to reupholster a loveseat. We returned recently to have a chair reupholstered. Zoey was incredibly helpful in selecting fabric and a pouf to go with the chair. The fabric I chose required skill in assuring that the pattern accurately matched. Needless to say, FS met the challenge. We had a great experience working with Zoey and FS. We highly recommend them!

The team at Furniture Pros recently did a full rehab on a secretary / curio cabinet. From the start they communicated their progress and were very open to me visiting them to check the work being done. The finished product was a beautiful restoration that will have a prominent place in our home for many years to come.

Furniture Specialties of Asheville, Inc. refinished my mother’s child’s chair…and she was born in 1925. They refinished the wooden chair during the coronavirus (March, 2020).
Decisions made on stain, etc. were all done electronically…and the chair is stunning! If you have a sentimental piece of furniture, or just a piece that needs to return to its former glory, this is the company for you! Years ago they repair a damaged headboard on a new bed, and to this day I cannot find where they fixed the damage. Bryan and his team are amazing!!!

Not only is Furniture Specialties a place to get professional guidance for all of you home decor needs from materials, styles, colors, and unique furniture. They also sale the highest quality furniture much of which is built in house! They are also courteous and most helpful from the smallest of projects to complete home and offices! They are an asset to the community they live in and have completed tons of projects all over the US. Before you go to a main stream furniture store give them a chance to earn your business! We were in the market for a nice recliner. I stopped by on the way home late on a Friday evening and met Hannah who showed me around and explained my options. I was impressed with her and as a result my wife returned the next day, a Saturday of a holiday weekend. Hannah was off, but Bryan, the owner worked with my wife to find her "dream chair". He actually delivered it that afternoon! Now, the problem is that my wife likes the chair so much I can't seem to get her out of it. The quality is fantastic, the warranty is fantastic and both Bryan and Hannah were wonderful to work with. I am impressed

HAPPY CUSTOMERS ! We are so very pleased with the bedroom chair that Furniture Specialties totally transformed, for us.
