Jamie served 12 years in the Marine Corps in both reserve and active duty capacities where he reached the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his career, his team won several awards for the best in their field. He deployed in 2008 to Djibouti, Africa as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom. During his reserve years, Jamie spent his days becoming a Journeymen Carpenter and worked on several of the high rise buildings you see in downtown Portland today!

We hired Vulcan spring 2021 to remodel or backyard. They did pavers, a new sport court and putting green. We had various issues with the paving crew but the job they did was amazing. The problem we had was with the putting green. I don't think they have experienced people who do this work. It has had issues from the get go. They've scheduled people to come out who either show up hours after the appointed time or not at all. We will probably need to hire professionals to get this done correctly at considerable cost. I enjoyed working with James, but the project manager is clueless. I don't think

We chose Vulcan for three major projects on our house: a total front deck rebuild/redesign, full exterior paint job, and a siding repair/waterproofing protect.
We're very satisfied with all three projects. We did get several bids for all the projects and Vulcan was mostly in the middle when it comes to price. Vulcan design is probably one of the friendliest, most responsive, and professional companies you’ll ever use if you’re looking to do a patio/covered porch/yard design. We hired them to do our back patio cover, paver patio with a seat bench, and sod/rock installation in our bare back yard (we purchased brand new). They did fabulous and the owners/project manager are so nice!! They stand behind their work 100%, and they do an excellent job. Thank you Eric and Jaime for everything you’ve done for us!

I've worked for this company for almost a year now, and have nothing but great things to say. Not only can I speak on behalf of our office, and on-site team being handworkers.. I also had a project done by our team. My wife and I got a Paver Patio installed at our house in Happy Valley and absolutely love it. Vulcan design did a great job with our project. We had a fairly unique vision for our landscaping project, and a prior landscaper was not communicating well and was trying to talk us out of things that were important to us. We came across Vulcan at a home show and they were willing to give us a free consultation and 3D design. When we saw the design drawn by Lucienne, it was exactly what we had in mind. From design to completing of the project, they were very professional, they finished ahead of schedule, and also gave us advice/ideas to fine tune our vision. Overall, we are very pleased with Vulcan

We had a great experience hiring Vulcan to completely redo our backyard with pavers, fire pit and turf. Jamie, one of the owners, spent hours with us; he listened and asked questions. We really had no idea what was possible and he came up with a design that exceeded our expectations. The whole team was great and responsive throughout the construction process.

Based on an actual personal experience unlike the last reviewer who is a possible friend of a possible customer, I am an ACTUAL customer. Vulcan Design and Construction did an incredible job on my back patio and patio cover in Forest Grove, OR in 2018. The owners Jamie and Eric were very responsive to all my questions and concerns throughout the project. I wanted a quaint outdoor space with a small deck for a rocking chair leading to a larger patio for seating and a firepit. The process was very smooth and excellent quality! We had the patio, RV parking area and driveway all done in pavers and it looks sharp. We have people drive by our house and point!
