The Johnson team proved to be knowledgeable, courteous, fast, clean, and ON TIME. They were a good value as well. This fireplace has never worked better.THANKS JOHNSON!!

Dealing with Johnson chimney services has been by far the worst experience. Not only they took forever to get to my home after two cancellations and a delayed visit but finally the gentleman came to fix something that took him one minute and charged a big fee which I respected and valued for their 45 years of experience.

Ever since son was a baby I've had candlesticks in the fireplace because I had a fear of him falling in the fire. Now that he's all grown up, we figured it was time to upgrade the FP. So, today Johnson Chimney Service worked their magic and installed a beautiful gas log fire system. Should've done it years ago because it changes the whole look and feel of the room!

Great service. I called the office on Sunday and surprisingly a lady picked up and was prompt to schedule me for the next day. Austin came out on time to do an estimate of mortar crown replacement. He wore mask and shoe cover the whole time, was courteous and patient to answering my many questions. I ended up doing two chimney fireplaces cleaning in addition to the estimate. Austin explained to me that some rocks, amber and sand may be vacuumed away because the many dead bugs inside to set expectation, but he tried his best to keep as much as possible while at the same time removed all the bugs

In April, I hired Johnson Chimney to add a steel liner to the chimney flue in my home in Alexandria.
I have three complaints about the company.
1) The estimate for the adding a steel liner and doing tuckpointing work on the chimney was $3,795 . But after the job was completed, the company said it needed to charge me an additional $750 for a total of $4545 because they found debris in the chimney that they had to remove. When the workers were doing the work in the basement, I gave them my cell phone number and told them to text me if they needed anything. At no point did they tell me there was an

On 10 Feb 2021 Johnson Chimney Service sent their "A Team" crew (Martin, Alfonzo, Oscar) to complete comprehensive repairs to our 1941 Cape Cod. Work included complete Fireguard Resurfacing of the Smoke Chamber and installation of a Stainless Steel Liner in the oil-heating chimney, stainless steel damper and new cement Masonry Crown. I was impressed with Johnson Chimney Service beginning with the detailed initial inspection by Walter, and totally satisfied the work performed by this professional crew. I without reservation recommend Johnson Chimney Service, they are remarkable.

I had a great experience with Johnson Chimney Service. My neighbor recommended them to me. Walter arrived at the end of the appointment window - but I understand that jobs are unpredictable and he did communicate with me to say when he would be here. He cleaned my chimney and recommended a newer, more efficient fireplace grate that would better fit my fireplace. He even looked it up on line and sent me the link. I recently texted Walter with a fireplace question and he responded immediately. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for fireplace-related needs.

We just moved in 3 months ago. Our chimney was struggling to evacuate smoke when we lit our first fire of the year. They managed to get us an appointment even during their peak busy season. Very proffessional, fast and good. Cleaned out the chimney and inspected it. Fireplace works very well.excellent value for service.

Excellent!! We will definitely use and recommend Johnson Chimney Service in the future. We have had along-standing problem with water leaking down the stone facade and through the porch roof. Not really a chimney issue, but Walter figured it out and solved it for us. He also took the time to help get my fireplace up and running for the winter months. Great for him to take the time and do that, too! Outstanding service for sure!

Promptly fixed our chimney masonry at a fair price. Very nice to work with and responsive by phone, we will reach out to them for our future chimney needs.

I have had Walter do work in my homes for the last 10 years. He has consistently done great work and feel he is very trustworthy. I have already recommended him to several friends whom have been happy with his work.

I made an appointment with Johnson Chimney for a gas fireplace inspection as they were the most reasonably priced with decent reviews on several websites. I called on a Thursday and spoke with Joan Marie who gave me a 4-hour appointment window for the following Monday and quoted me $195 for a gas fireplace inspection. Although Walter didn't arrived until 30 minutes after the 4 hour window, his inspection was thorough and informative. When it came time for payment, Walter quoted me $225 for the gas fireplace inspection and wasn't willing to uphold the quote I was given over the phone.

Gas fireplace appeared to be working until I did not verbally support Walter's racist comments about "black" President Obama and blatantly erroneous claims about Trump's MAGA economic gains. A $600 valve was suddenly needed. (That's $200 higher than Angie's estimate for my area.)

Company AKA "State Inspector."

I cannot recommend this service.

The initial quote I received from another company seemed very high, so I contacted Johnson Chimney, based on the advice of a very trusted home inspector, and they provided me with a 2nd quote that was much more in line what I was expecting. We've chosen them to reline our chimney and will update this review when the work is complete. So far, they have been very friendly and accommodating. We look forward to working with Johnson Chimney.

They scheduled me very quickly and Walter is excellent. Very knowledgeable and gave me great options for my fireplace.

I am impressed with this business. Mr. Walter Kerr showed up at the established time, was pleasant and professional, carefully examined the chimney and sat down to write his report, which was in my e-mail some 10 minutes later. The report was precise in answering all the questions raised by a previous inspector. A minor crack in the firebox, for which a previous chimney expert proposed an overall change of the firebox, at the cost of $750 (!!!!), was considered by Mr. Kerr as "not an issue", not a "safety concern". His bill was $295. Talk abut great service!

No call no show. Called to ask about my Appointment. They claimed to have notified me. Tanks for calling me a liar, if I don't miss work to sit around and wait for service or repairs that aren't happening.
Also they quoted me $200 over the phone for a cleaning and then I saw and ad later that said $150! Great customer relations.

They own up to their work. We had a big blow that knocked our cap off and they are on their way to fix it.

Would like to give the fewest stars possible. The tech cameto clean out my dryer vent. He was surprised it was a gas dryer! I had mentioned this when I requested a vent clean. Long story short $175. Later. He said he had cleaned out the dryer vent.

Just had a new dryer and vent installed. I have photos of the lint in the vent!! Unbelievable!! Never, ever hire these people!!! They never cleaned it!
