Damoka is excellent! My uncle was visiting from Florida, and he previously owned a Persian rug store there. I thought it would be a great idea to show him this magnificent store while he was here. Alex Helmi, the president of Damoka, was very kind and knowledgable. I will definitely return when I am ready to purchase or repair a Persian rug.

It's clear that the owner is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his business. He took the time to show us some absolutely stunning rugs and explained the craftsmanship and history that goes into each one. It was like visiting a museum! Yes, you're going to spend a lot of money on a rug but it is worth every single penny, it's a lifetime investment! 100% recommend visiting Damoka if you're in the market for carpet.

I was saddened to receive a letter in the mail yesterday from Alex Helmi, announcing that DAMOKA would be closing their doors soon. We have had a great relationship with DAMOKA for 30 years; Alex always knew what to do, how to fix things, and where to find our hearts' desire. The U.S. sanctions have made it too hard to do business, so they are liquidating their stock and closing. If you have dreamed of beautiful rugs for your home, get to DAMOKA quickly.

Truly the best selections of antique and exquisite carpets and Persian rugs in the West Coast. Very knowledgeable staff I had a repair for one of my antique rugs. Not only they cleaned it well to its original luster but they repaired it perfectly. This is a highly recommended place and the owner is wonderful.

Came last week for a class trip and was given a full detailed and very interesting tour by the owner, who is incredibly knowledgeable and nice. You can tell he loves and enjoys what he does and loves sharing about the culture. The rugs are so beautiful and great to use. There is a wide selection and each rug having different meanings. I didn't know that much about Persian rugs until that day, and after I left I had some people see my social media posts of my trip and telling me how amazing it would be to own one. Definitely recommend this place for future designs!

Came here for a field trip a week ago with my Surface Materials class and I was astonished by the quality of these carpets! The owner gave us all the information of the history of these carpets, the purpose/meaning behind each one, etc. He talks with pure excitement and really exudes a passion for what he does. Damoka has really set the bar for my carpet standards now!

I came to Damoka last week, as part of a 'field trip' with my instructor (UCLA interior design program). I had driven by the store every week since starting as a student at UCLA and I had no idea the treasures this store encompasses... Hundred years old rugs, every single one made by hand over several years, sometimes 10 years by one rug maker...
The best was the owner, who spent a whole hour passionately teaching us about the history of these rugs, the difference between tribal and city rugs, getting rugs pulled from the side and unfolded for us so we could appreciate the craft and understand

I went to Damoka to get one of my grandfather's antique Persian rugs repaired and cleaned. I was very worried that the carpet was beyond repairing but the people at the store assured me that it could be fixed. The rug came out perfect just like they promised, my parents were very happy.
The staff was really great and extremely knowledgeable about rugs, and the price was very fair. Highly recommended!
