Jonathan came for a water shut-off as he was one of the designated plumber contracted by our HOA. The total time it took to shut-off water and turn it back on was less than 1 hour as we had contractors in house to do the work inside of the unit. In the end, we were charged for 1.5hours because he charged 30 for him to driving here from his originating location at the same rate as doing the work, which is $135. I understood if he had to go to a job site and the job site is not ready for him to do work, he should charge a minimum fee. But charging $67.50 for driving to work... Why don't we all

Decided to use Bay Plumbing to do a small job - replace a few valves in my kitchen and bathroom. The small job blossomed into almost 6hr of work (and a bill of ~$1000). The valve changing didn't take much time, but Jonathan looked into everything plumbing related in my apartment. He fiddled with my drains, knob covers, old putty work, and wanted to work on all these other things. So between the time it took him to replace valves, fiddle with everything and repeatedly wander to his truck for more tools, I ended up with a sad and surprisingly large bill for what I thought was a small task.

We would not recommend Bay Plumbing. While the technical work was done well, the overall experience was not the best.
Jonathan first came by to do what he said would be a five minute free inspection of the problem, which he then charged us for (30 minutes total). We then scheduled an appointment for the following week, and he showed up 1 hour late but charged us for that missing hour. When he finally arrived, he took 1.5 hours for a job that should have taken no longer than 30 minutes total (based on both what his office told us and the opinion of a different plumbing company). I would give Jonathan 10 stars if there is a way! My garbage disposal broke the day before my honeymoon over a weekend. - Was making hectic calls to try to get it fixed for my folks who are staying at my place before I leave. Called Bay Plumbing, talked to Jonathan. He walked me through some basic DIY fix steps over the phone, and "Vaula" it is fixed in under 10 mins! So grateful of his free advice and help while other companies are quoting me $200-300 for emergency weekend rates! I never get down on folks who roll up their sleeves and get dirty, but Jonathan took a long time on everything he attempted, took on jobs I didn't want done (e.g., removing and rinsing out a furnace filter that wasn't very dirty), didn't finish much of anything, saying he'd come back in a week (charging me for two visits), and left a toilet in worse shape than he found it by replacing a flapper with a different size flapper that is too large (he didn't bring a full replacement set). I was spoiled by having Harry as my plumber for many, many years. I tried the person who bought Harry's business when Harry retired. He was not able to fix the problem he came for (told me to call the manufacturer), saw my leaking faucet and said he could get me a replacement part for $200, looked at my other faucets/showers and said he could come at another time to clean out, then left. Nothing fixed, then a $200 bill in the mail a week later.

Had an broken water pipe on a saturday morning, water was pouring out from the side of the house. Roto-rooter said it would be 2-3 hrs before they could come and wouldn't give me any quotes over the phone. I called Bay Plumbing and Jonathan was at my house within 30 minutes. He was very thoughtful and deliberate about figuring out exactly where the problem was....I thought we were going to have to cut some holes in the wall or at least go crawling around under the house. He was able to find the problem (a cracked, leaky pipe leading the outside of the house) and fixed it in an hour

Called Bay Plumbing for a sewage back-up in the downstairs shower (gross). Jonathan was able to fix it quickly with his professional-size electric powered snake in the main line. I always ask him questions when he's here so I can assess what the next plumbing project should be (fix the low water pressure or add another toilet?).
Anyway, he gives straight forward answers and good advice. Bonus: you'll feel comfortable having him in your home.

Jonathan is the new owner, (Jonathan worked for Harry, then Harry retired and sold the business to Jonathan).
I am just finishing a bathroom remodel and still had to install the pedestal sink. The plumber who did the rough drain plumbing didn't set the sanitary tee far enough back into the wall so it stuck out . The expensive and beautiful trim parts wouldn't work and it was the wrong size ( needed 11/4" and he installed 11/2").
Jonathan was very knowledgable and suggested a few different options. The best one involved

This guy DOES NOT LISTEN TO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.
Also he left me waiting for him in my very cold house for 2.5 hours without even calling to tell me he wasn't coming (I had to call the office to find this out), so then I had to spend *another* day sitting around my cold house waiting for him to come. My heat is back on (after 2 visits, totaling $500), but if it breaks again, I'M NOT CALLING BAY PLUMBING AGAIN.

Had a leak in the piping between our well and the front sprinkler system. Called Bay Plumbing on a Friday at around 11am, asking if they could get someone out that afternoon (since I was leaving on vacation the next day).
Jonathan was able to come out by 2pm that same day, and I appreciated that I got a phone call from the office manager letting me know he was on his way a few minutes before he arrived. He was able to fix the leak quickly and easily. Jonathan seemed to really know his stuff and was very personable.
I would highly recommend him for any plumbing needs!

Harry did a fantastic job installing the toilet and pedestal sink in our new bathroom. The entire Bay Plumbing experience was fantastic. When I called Harry, he picked up the phone on the first try and we were able to quickly schedule some time for him to come install our new fixtures. Harry was very careful in our sparkling new bathroom and even laid down a cloth to rest all of his tools so as not to scratch our new tile. I called on Monday and Harry was out in the field. I was told he would call me back that evening. I did not get a call back. I called again on Wednesday, and then again on Friday. On Friday I was told he was very busy and did not give estimates. I asked him to call me back anyway to discuss the job.

This is the first time I am using the help from Bay plumbing. The last time I called them they referred me to Dale Plumbing (another good firm). But this time, I called them and Harry was available.
Harry is a solo guy in this firm. Kathy handles the phone calls/ scheduling etc. So often times if you have an emergency and if he is not able to attend to it, they will refer to Dale.
Harry is a good professional. And his troubleshooting, analysis and solution skills are at consummate levels. So his workmanship is great. He is also a friendly professional. So I am very happy with the work.

Harry was great! Gave him a call for some slow drains, he called when he said he would, and showed up when he said he would too. If only all folks could do that! $115 for him to come out, and a quick 10 minute job and he was done. Problem solved.

We had a cracked p-trap and were unable to replace the parts as they were outdated. (This was on a Sunday). We contacted Harry at Bay Plumbing based on numerous stellar Yelp reviews. He returned our call first thing in the morning and gave us a "window" of when he would arrive to fix the problem. His assistant notified us that he was on his way.
Harry fixed the problem in less than an hour and updated how the pipes connected. By doing this, if we had a similar issue in the future, we could fix it easier and save money!

I called and waited for Roto Rooter. They promised me a technician within 2 hours. No one even showed or called me within the 2 hours...so I yelped for a local plumber. "Bay Plumbing" had all good reviews. So I set you a time with Harry...the lady of the phone was extremely nice, pleasant and professional! I explained her the problem and she told me that Harry had the sump pump I needed and he will come ready in case the pump need to be replace...go figure a plumber that will come ready to work rather than for an estimate! I will report back once he does the

I have been having ongoing problems with my two toilets. I called Dave's Plumbing previously. They came out here and charged me $160 for a 5 minute job, and then try to "upsell" me into a $500 repair that is totally unrelated.
6 weeks after Dave's Plumbing "fixed" my problem, my toilets started acting up again. This time I called Harry of Bay Plumbing. Boy, WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

Another happy customer of Harry and his company Bay Plumbing. He replaced the fixtures in an old tub/shower and replaced our broken and leaking Insinkerator hot water device.
He's honest and will talk you through the problem and the various alternatives for fixes. He can also buy materials for you. He was easy to communicate with, was on time, and was very proactive with his follow up calls (when I was waiting for the ordered materials to arrive).
Overall I'm very happy with the results and strongly recommend him.
