Katie at Silk and Sage Design Studio upcycled two pieces of furniture for me. One was a credenza from my dad's house, one was a 35 year old dresser my husband and I bought when we married. I LOVE both pieces so much, and they were definitely too much for me to tackle myself. Katie keeps you in touch with progressive photos along the way, making sure you like where the piece is heading. And, I did! When I am ready to tackle another large piece of furniture, I will definitely be calling Silk and Sage again. :)

I cannot say enough good things about Katie and Silk and Sage. Her work is perfection and she keeps you involved along the way to make sure everyone is on the same page with the progress. This helped keep me excited about my project. Such a kind and caring person who also has an admirable work ethic.

The owner, Katie, is brimming with great ideas and advice. I just took on my first milk paint project and I'm now moving forward confidently and armed with a gorgeous stencil I picked up at this studio.

Love love love this shop! I participated in their "Paint your Own" furniture class. My project was extremely challenging and meaningful to me as it was my late grandmother's jewelry chest. Katie has a great eye for color, design and detail. I thoroughly enjoyed my class and absolutely love how the piece turned out! They also have the best gifts and support so many local artists. Great place to drop in and check out what's going on!

I was lucky enough to take a workshop at Silk and Sage and I loved every minute of the class. It gave me all the techniques and confidence I needed to tackle a project at home. Silk and Sage also had all the tools and resources I needed to turn an outdated console desk into a statement piece. Katie made her self available for questions and guidance as I put my newly learned skills to work at home. I recommend the class to friends of all DIY levels.

Katie is your paint doctor! She really helped and nurtured me through the process of chalk paint. At first I was nervous to begin painting because of my perfectionism but Katie was always there to remind me that anything that happened could be fixed and she was right.
I painted several things and a few things popped up as I was painting and waxing; and I simply called Katie and she walked me through the process of fixing what was happening with my pieces. I am thoroughly satisfied with everything. I even learned how to enjoy the waxing process.

Now that Sitric House & Home is closed, Silk and Sage is the only stockist in Austin to carry Farrow & Ball paint! The store is owned by a married couple who will also do contract furniture painting in your home including front doors and kitchen cabinets! The store also carries Annie Sloan and Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint.

I found Silk and Sage after I got a wild hair and decided to paint my back patio concrete slab in a Moroccan pattern stencil. The YouTube videos made it look so easy! Needless to say, it took far longer than I anticipated, a few extra trips to Home Depot, and the paint that I had bought online was definitely the wrong color. Enter Silk and Sage. Silk and Sage Design Studio is a magical place! The owner, Katy, is so incredibly talented, helpful, knowledgeable, creative, and so much more. I took two private classes with her to learn how to use Annie Sloan chalk paint for the first time. Her prices were fantastic and included the cost of paint, supplies, (use of) brushes, wax, and everything I needed for my "paint your own piece" project.

This place is the bees knees! I needed some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and found this gem on her website as a stockist. I take my son to Dragons Lair for Pokemon and this studio is only a block or 2 away. It is small, intimate and the person who owns it is as sweet as can be. I had used chalk paint, not Annie Sloan, previously and my piece turned out terrible! I didn't use Annie Sloan because I was scared of using the wax after the paint. The owner - knowing my fears - walked me through a piece that she was working on. I left there confident I could master an entry table and you know what

I have taken 3 classes with Katie now. What I loved most was not just learning new techniques and "tricks" to get the best results, but Katie encourages experimenting. She had great inspiration pieces and ideas. I had not completed some pieces at home because i wanted to be sure i understood waxing before moving forward. The classes gave me wonderful ideas to make the projects even "better." After beginning a small project on my own at home, i decided it would be wise to take an Annie Sloan workshop. I had the pleasure of taking the chalk paint 101 workshop today at Silk and Sage Design. Katie is a fantastic instructor and sharer of her knowledge in chalk painting and the Annie Sloan products. And she was extremely patient with this newbie and made the class fun and relaxing. I am now ready and more confident about proceeding with my project and look forward to many more future ones. I just repainted a small side table there with a friend, and it was a wonderful experience. I am a painting newbie, but Katie was very patient with me and happily shared her knowledge. I had a great time and am now thinking about all of the other furniture I have that could use a new look! She also has really cute things for sale in the shop - many items found at vintage and antique stores - along with refurbished furniture pieces that she has repainted herself. I was researching Annie Sloan milk paint over several months, and I was happy to see a stockist appear in my neighborhood.
