Today we brought a beautiful Tabriz Fish pattern rug from Texas Oriental Rugs. Tony (Saeed) was fabulous and worked very hard to understand what we wanted after we visited his store 2 weeks ago. He spent a week searching and found exactly what we wanted. He was helpful in giving unbiased advice without pressure. We also got a great deal - we know that from looking around at other stores. We are more than happy with our new rug.

Saeed (Tony) sold my husband and I the best living room area rug we can get! We were looking for a pretty large size area rug based on our space, we showed Saeed a picture of our living room and he instantly knew what size and colors would go from one look! You can tell he is very experienced in this business and has been selling rugs for decades. He advised us not to buy such a big rug where some will end up under our couch, and not be seen, he said “just buy a large enough rug to cover the inner area of your living room, otherwise you will just be wasting your money” which made sense!

In early September, 2020 we shopped at 4 oriental rug stores in the Galleria / Westheimer / Fondren area. Only one store had the quality and salesman expertise we were looking for. Texas Oriental Rugs, Inc was hands down the best place to get good, honest information on what makes a high quality hand woven wool rug and the place to get a very reasonable price for ultra high quality products.

A designer friend referred me to Texas Oriental Rugs thirteen years ago, and we were so impressed with their selection, sales process, and pricing. We purchased two rugs and they are still in fantastic shape in high-traffic areas of our home. I recently purchased a few additional rugs from them and was told that, sadly, the owner passed away and they are in the process of clearing out their inventory and closing the store. If you are in need of new rugs, GO VISIT them while you can!

Tony and Isaac are amazing! We purchased our rugs from them over 8 years ago and the rugs were in awesome shape until they sat in water for over 2 weeks due to flooding from Hurricane Harvey. After the flood, my husband actually had our rugs rolled up in our trash to be thrown away. I called Tony and they were able to salvage our rugs and get all of the stains, mold and bacteria out. They personally came to our house to pick up and return the rugs. In addition, they were so kind to keep our rugs for us for almost a year until our house was ready. In 2011 I purchased a gorgeous dark green, 9'12', hand-knotted, Persian-Chinese Tabritz design wool rug from here. It was a find; we went through dozens of rugs to find the green color I was seeking. I paid $1,800 and it's valued at $9,000. Now 5 years later I can say it's exceptional quality and an unbeatable price.
We did bargain heavily before purchasing. The owner was not too happy with the final price, but we were!

This is the only place I buy real persian carpets. They are family run and know their business. Take a magic ride over to find the right carpet instead of waisting money on wall to wall junk. Rugs I have bought from them 12 years ago still look brand new. My stair runner always gets compliments. I am in the process of changing out my dining room rug and looked at two other rug shops, yipes they knew nothing and were passing off Indo Chinese rugs as Persian. Feel confident with this family.
