This was one of the best purchasing experiences I've had. I want to emphasize "purchase" as I was given information that helped me decide to purchase from Butek. At no time did I feel pressured or hyped. The salesperson Ryan Lafleur was knowledgeable, personable and provided pros and cons. He did not over promise which I saw during the installation. Ryan came out each day during installation of the panels and the batteries (yes, I got backup batteries). I must admit I was skeptical when he told me the owner assists with the installation, but Jay (the owner did come and did hands on in the batter

My relationship with Burtek starter over a year ago when Jay came out to the house to evaluate our energy situation. He did a study that showed some need for increased solar (we already had a 4K system), but no real need for a battery about which we had inquired. I liked that he not only didn't try to sell me something I didn't need, but actively recommended against it. So, naturally, I waited a year and decided I wanted the whole works, solar and battery. This company is very professional and does quality installations. The crew was great and very detail oriented. Blake Sorensen was particularly great as the Energy Consultant and Project Manager. He basically held my hand the whole way through. Any questions or needed communications were address very quickly by Blake. They may be a little more expensive than other companies but SunPower has the best quality product and hires the best installers and representatives.

I had a very complicated install; on a separate structure, building permits, trees in the way and I travel with my work so I'm not around a lot. Jay was AWESOME! I purchased a solar system that included the NeoVolta battery backup.
I made my purchase in December of 2019 and Burtek Energy got it installed in time for me to take advantage of the government incentives.
The system has worked flawlessly since installation, until recently, when my batteries would shut off early.
We recently had a power outage and the backup failed.
I contacted Jay Burden at Burtek and he immediately contacted Brent Wilson CEO at NeoVolta.
To my surprise they were able to monitor and diagnose the problem and Brent Wilson personally came out to replaced 1 bad battery and flash

The NeoVolta NV24 unit installed by Jay Burden and his team performed FLAWLESSLY during a recent SDG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) outage. Basically, the system fully charged from solar during the day and powered the house overnight. What a relief! So much easier than using a generator & coolers and buying propane and ice - especially during a pandemic!

I worked with Jay Burden and Christian on a replacement of my inverters which were malfunctioning. Although Burtek was not my original installer (Smart Energy my original installer went out of business) they were the first (and only) company of several authorized Sunpower dealers to respond to my inquiry. A little background. I initially had 3 companies visit and prepare estimates for solar. All of them were in a hurry to sign me up and never really bothered to look at my steep roof very closely. They all expressed concern about the roof and the fact that the tiles were aluminum with an asphalt colored coating. (Neither actually inspected my roof.) Long story short, they basically told me sign now and they'd figure it out later. Obviously that was not good enough for me and left me wondering. Basically I concluded

A wonderful company! They diagnosed the issues with my existing system and gave me valuable and valid advice about replacing my old panels with new ones. They then gave me a choice of 3 different set-ups, and helped with advice on how to choose between them.

We had several quotes (all from highly recommended companies). The Burtek quote provided the most VALUE, and that's important since this is a long- term investment. Their prices were very competitive. They included the work of all the permitting with the county and alignment with SDGE. We bought the best panels we could afford, upgraded our electrical box, and did a 16Kw ground mount installation (which is typically more expensive and complicated).
