Both of my toilets had a leak at the base. I called Prater Plumbing and they answered and set up an appointment for the next day. Prater arrive right on time (actually a little early). They were able to pin point what the issue was and resolved it with an hour. I am so impressed with the amazing customer service and their knowledge was superior. Prater Plumbing went above and beyond any of my expectations. I needed help immediately, and they were able to fulfill my requests around my time schedule. They came to my place of business at 4 am to meet MY deadlines and still be on schedule to meet their own obligations scheduled for their day. This happened for two days straight and another day when they had the time. I will NEVER use another plumbing company!! GET ESTIMATE IN WRITING!
We've worked with Prater a few times over the past decade and just had a recirculating pump installed and our sewer line cleaned out. We got multiple estimates and went with Prater because the estimates were similar and we had good experience with Prater in the past. However, the cost ended up MUCH higher than the estimate and, unfortunately, I hadn't gotten the estimate in writing. Last time I make that mistake.
We haven't had any issues with their work, but be sure to get estimates in writing.

I don't think this company is being run by Joseph Prater any longer. I commented that we had used them in the past and they seemed vague. I got the quote for our water heater install as $600 for labor plus the cost of the unit. When we got the bill it was over $1600. I called Ferguson for actual cost of water heater and was quoted $595 plus tax etc. This company definitely overcharged! It took them 5 hours start to finish and we had left before the work was completed. We had made prior arrangements to pay by phone or mail a check once we returned and checked the work. They called 3 times and stopped

I needed a plumber quickly due to a leak, Sal responded immediately, setup the inspection next day and took care of an easy pipe fix. Prayer plumbing is professional, fair priced and wonderful to work with. We are extremely happy to have found Sal and Prater plumbing. These guys installed my water heater for way less than half the price as Dutton Plumbing (Dutton wanted 2800$!). Out of 4 estimates I got, They were cheapest by over a thousand dollars . They seemed like nice honest guys and my water heater works great.

So sad Prater Plumbing was one of my first introductions to Ventura and the service was consistently subpar.
1. The plumber Co$& installed the large, front loading washer and dryer and DID NOT level the washer nor the dryer. I pushed both with one finger and both tipped. I called him back before he left and asked that he level them.
2. The plumber Co$& DID NOT turn on the gas to ensure the dryer would dry clothes, see picture. I asked him before he left if the dryer was working. He laughed at my question and said yes. Well it turned "ON" via the electrical plug, but could

My grandparents used them for years since the 1990's when it was Joseph Prater plumbing. We had plumbing issues that looked like it was going to take a significant amount of construction to reach and resolve. However, Sal was relentless in exploring solutions, with great success! Prater staff also did a fabulous job with a bathroom remodel advice for us last year. They are honest and reasonable still to this day. We are grateful to them and highly recommend them.

I called them on Sunday when my tenant called me to report that when she is using the washing machine, the water is coming out of her kitchen sink. When I called, they quickly answered the phone and were very professional (surprising considering it was a Sunday). They gave me a fair and honest price and got a service call scheduled for this morning. Today they came out and took care of the problem and even tested everything to make sure there are no more issues. My tenant is happy and the problem is solved. I will definitely keep their number handy for further plumbing/rooter projects.

I had a leak in my two story house from my upstairs bathroom which was leaking into my living room. Figuring that they were going to have to cut a gigantic hole in my ceiling, they didn't but fixed the problem! They were very professional and quick! They were very nice and helpful with telling me what was going on, to someone that was clueless. My plumber was Leo and he was great! I will be calling Prater Plumbing for any of my other plumbing needs in the future.
