Throughout our many years of operation, We have been fortunate to have been involved in many challenging projects using precast products. Every project is different in it's demands, including appearance, site logistics, and budget. Willis Construction produces three commonly used Precast Panel Systems that can accommodate a wide range of these design needs.
Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete is made of a 1 thick cementitious skin, reinforced with alkali resistant glass fibers, and attached to a metal stud frame system. GFRC can be formed into ornate shapes, and its light weight provides many benefits for high rise buildings. GFRC panels consist of a 1" thick solid concrete skin attached to a 16 gage 2" x 4" steel stud frame system.
Willis Construction has produced many projects using custom structural precast elements. Most projects consisted of planks, vertical walls and V-shaped vertical chase panels for the California Prison System. Others have been unique custom structural precast elements for a wide range of projects. Some included sewage digesters, stadium seating, stairway risers with landings, and a simulated "Afghan Village" for the US Marine Corp.
