Econo Air was founded in 1977 with the idea to help consumers save money on their rising energy bills. Today, the philosophy of saving money by "saving energy" is still the core belief at Econo Air. Al Bennett and Gary Flanagan, co-founders of Econo Air, first met while working at Montgomery Wards & Co.
After 14 years as outside heating and air-conditioning salesmen, they knew what the people in Bakersfield needed to keep their homes cool in the summer and warm in the winter. When energy costs began to skyrocket, they decided to combine their knowledge with their cost-saving ideas and began their business with a small showroom on South Chester near Ming.
Bennett and Flanagan pioneered the idea of adding an evaporative cooling system to an existing air-conditioning system. At that time, it made "cents" to have an alternative to expensive air-conditioning costs, and the evaporative cooling tie-in system was just the answer. Adding to Econo Air's cost-saving measures, the business included its own sheet metal fabrication operation, so the duct work could be done along with the installation.

On one of the hot day in August 2021, Econo -Air Inc removed and replaced a AC & heating system in my home. It was a few weeks to get the unit in from the order but it arrived on time. The install took over 10 hours but we had a cool house at the end of the day. Don't waste time looking for a AC company to use, because Econo-Air is the one that will give you Great service, with a Professional staff. And if you are lucky you may get to work with the owner of the company to answer all your questions. Remember one call Econo-Air.

I was so pleased with the immediate service I received when my air conditioner suddenly quit working. Had an appointment from 8-12. We call receptionist at 12:15 she says talked to person should be there 20 to 30 minutes. Obviously they are at lunch. Can't blame them for wanting to eat butyou can't call. No morning call to say where you are at in rotation. It is obvious that this company don't care about time except for there own. Save yourself the trouble use someone else.

We installed a fireplace insert through Econo Air and have been very satisfied with the process. Gary was patient with all our questions and we ended up with a product that met all our expectations. The installation crew were very professional, explained how to use the insert/remote and the entire process only took about 3 hours to complete. Now we can use our fireplace again and the room is very comfortable to relax in!

They were honest and very open about what was needed. Felt comfortable with Gary the owner as soon as we shook hands and agreed on a verbal contract. Went into office and they had contract all written up and Gary told me that he was going to upgrade my unit from a 2.5 Ton 14 seer which was sufficient for a 3 Ton 15 seer unit at no extra charge just so I could save on efficiency and have 2 stage heater. Had new gas line and insert installed and the crew was completely professional and their cleanliness was above standard crew made sure the home was cleaner when they left after completing the project.
