Blue Star replaced the B vent on the roof of my new home when it was found to be cracked during the home inspection. Winston arrived on time, was very kind and knowledgable, answered several questions I had about the process along the way, and he and his colleague worked hard to finish the project in time for my PM HVAC permit inspection. Their prices were reasonable and exactly what was quoted prior to the work; No surprises, and I passed inspection. Long Story: I went through Yelp's project quote system that notifies all of the local servicers for whatever you want to have done. I also consulted another company outside of that that a friend recommended. Overall, I had 7 different companies that I contacted, 5 of which came out to give me quotes.

BlueStar's technician John B. is obviously very knowledgeable out how HVAC systems should be installed and operated. He tested our system and explained how we can operate ours more efficiently to get better results, and why a couple of things I thought were problems, were not. He did not try to "upsell" any products or services. I would recommend BlueStar and John B to anyone needing HVAC work.

I sent an urgent email late on a Sunday night, and Danny responded right away and scheduled technician during our preferred timeframe for Monday afternoon (despite BlueStar's full schedule... he had to squeeze us in!). John arrived as scheduled, and was very thorough in diagnosing problem, discussing solution and then replacing refrigerant in our AC unit. BlueStar Air Mechanical Inc is a great company. I have used them 3 times. I had duct cleaning last week and had a great experience. The two techs arrived at the time window I was told. When they arrived they explained the whole process as I had never done duct cleaning in my home before. This is my third year as a client with Bluestar. They replaced my old facilities (HVAC & water heater) with new units last year. As long as we are in the DMV area, I will continue to be a client with Bluestar. Their service, professionalism, punctuality, quality of work, communication, responsiveness and affordability is A+. Each Bluestar person who has come to our home has been warm and friendly. The team has taken the utmost precautions for the pandemic and I felt safe (I have a 1 year old) with them in the house. BlueStar did a fantastic job, and the technician that came out, John, was awesome!! He was very friendly, polite, professional, and knowledgeable. I bought my condo within the last year, and this was the first time I've had the HVAC professionally serviced. John found multiple things that the previous owners and servicers who installed the unit had done incorrectly, and fixed them all on the spot, and gave several helpful recommendations. The best prices and amazing Service! My heat stopped working for a few hours yesterday, but I was eventually able to get it to come back on. I put in a request for maintenance to hopefully avoid losing heat in the middle of winter again - and received a response in just 9 minutes to schedule a next-day appointment. Diego from BlueStar was able to come out at noon today and check it out. Unfortunately the heat stopped working again around 2, but Diego was able to come back and get it working again around 3:30! Bluestar was great. I called them after receiving an outrageous quote from a 5 star rated place on yelp. They were quickly able to quote me around 60% cheaper (475 vs 1178). Aside from the reasonable price (which was commensurate with the average repair cost on google), the technician came in fully masked, performed the service of replacing my inducer motor assembly for my heating system in about 30 minutes, and my home had heat again. Be weary of seemingly perfect reviews but this company deserves their rating. Would absolutely use them again.

I can't recommend this company highly enough. 3 years ago we had them replace our airconditioning system and oil heater with a heat pump. They made expert recommendations and did a great job of installation.
Last week we had a heat pump in our sunroom fail and they replaced it two days later. Great work. Fast service.

I can't say enough about BluStar. I called them in June when my AC/heat pump died and I didn't want to use the service provider selected by the home warranty company. From the owner, to the technician, to the main customer service person, Lyn (especially Lyn), a very friendly staff which delivers a high quality of service at a reasonable price. The Bluestar team replaced my attic HVAC very quickly, during the heat wave. From initial visit to diagnose my problem (evaporator coil was leaking refrigerant) to new HVAC system in 4 days. The guys who came out were courteous, very clean with painters plastic laid out, and most importantly did the install without cutting any corners. Before calling Bluestar, I had another local HVAC company come out and all they did was routine maintenance and said that should fix it... um nope! I will use Bluestar every time for my HVAC needs in the future. A++++!

I have several experiences with Blue star mechanical, all have been great, ie , tstat check up, installing a whole new system at a renovation project, checking dryer vents and maintenance.

My furnace ignitor recently went out and with two little ones at home I wanted to be sure to have the defective part replaced in a timely and professional manner. Upon the BlueStar mechanics arriving to my residence on time, they were true professionals - wearing booties before stepping into the residence. Not only did they take the time to address the ignitor issue, they also explained the furnace system as a whole, pointing out other aspects of the furnace that may need addressed in the near future given the current age of the furnace. The manager Danny sent Diego (technician) to assess the situation, give me a quote AND bring over a portable AC to tie me over until the situation was resolved. They did all this knowing that I was looking at other quotes to replace my unit. Of course their pricing was significantly more affordable, and I went with them.
They started work in record time, a day earlier than I expected, showing up early in the morning and working

My old water heater finally died on me and with it being winter, I needed a new water heater quick. I called BlueStar to have a technician come out and give a quote and they were able to get to me the next morning. The technician was very punctual and came at the stated time. The water heater in my condo is not a normal one, but is hydro heat system, so the water heater replacement is much more expensive than your traditional one. I contacted other companies to provide me with a quote and they were all much more expensive compared to BlueStar.
