My partner and I had just purchased a home and the upstairs had multiple types of flooring. We purchased a laminate flooring (trying to match existing stairs) and got in touch with 1st Choice Flooring for a quote. They were extremely responsive, came out and took measurements, and provided a quote. We chose them and the floor install process was seamless, Alex started on a Monday morning and was done by Weds afternoon (~550 sqft). They worked with us as we wanted to do our own baseboards as well. The install was completed with great care and we are very happy with our new floors!

I will start with the positives. First Choice was responsive and they did great work installing my vinyl flooring downstairs. They were neat and efficient while doing the job. Their office staff are also responsive and pleasant to work with. The reason I cannot recommend them beyond 3 stars is that there were some issues with their bidding process. Initially I asked them to bid both my upstairs and downstairs for vinyl installation (of a 1200 foot condo), along with installing carpet on the stairs. They did bid that. All I can say is WOW and how happy my Wife and I are with 1st Choice Flooring!!! Everyone was so kind and professional! The crew came in and within 6 days had our old porcelain tile removed, luxury vinyl and beautiful baseboards installed. They were absolutely amazing! As a designer myself, I had called in about 5-8 quotes for a small project of about 1200 sq feet. They had to add a close match to the existing engineered wood flooring , already at the residence.
The job was going to be hard .. since the new wood was of a different company ( so we were prepared for having the size , thickness and groove cut different from existing. We could not find anywhere the same size and thickness.
Josh and his team were selected after a Pre selection of 6 flooring contractors.
The second reason it was hard is the staircase noses that came in were of different thickness

Well let me just begin by saying that we asked for over 12 estimates when we first started looking at the possibility of upgrading our floor and installing LVP. Josh visited us first and and gave us our first estimate. He ended up being our choice based on the pricing and estimate at the time .... and we are so happy we went with him. So the only reason this company is getting a 2 star review is because of their installer Kyle. He was absolutely amazing and did excellent clean crisp work. The reason they get any stars is because kyle making up for all the bad things that happened. They violated our contract and didn’t start on the agreed upon date. They were supposed to arrive to first level floors in agreed upon areas but the general manager told me they had more pressing jobs so they would only level my most needed room which was the kitchen for the cabinet installer which was not the agreed upon solution. Great work from Josh and the team at 1st choice. I had a bamboo floor which had its plank separated by up to 1/2" in a variety of places. They came out, identified the issue and scheduled the work (with estimate). Guys came this morning, and finished all the work in less time than expected. Great job!! Would certainly use them again and recommend them for hardwood repairs.

Called 1st choice flooring and was greeted by a friendly receptionist. She helped me schedule a free estimate for the following day. Josh came out and did the estimate and was quick and so very helpful. He noticed little things that other people didn't. I appreciated him helping me save money where I could. He looked at my baseboards and said "those are new, let's reuse them so that you don't need to spend more money unnecessarily." Hard to find contractors that are honest like that. They are super competitive with their prices and will try their best to match.

Josh, Kyle and the whole First Choice Flooring team did an amazing job on our new floor. The job involved quite a lot of demo. They were neat and respectful. They also paid attention to detail, which is very important to me as a designer. They did not execute any transition details without checking with me first. We live in San Diego area. Home was built in 2006 and the original carpet on the stairs and upstairs hallway had become worn out despite several professional cleanings over the years. But cleaning was not going to help it any longer so we decided to go with hard surface.

I recently had flooring installed in 3 bedroom. I got quotes from 3 other places but decided to go with 1st choice because their service and the speed at which they could provide the services we needed. Prices were comparable to other places, on key difference is that they are very upfront with their costs compared to other places. There were no surprise charges. Wow!!! Absolutely great experience throughout the duration of working with First Choice Flooring. The Workers were professional, on-time, knowledgeable and very informative. They quoted me for a 14 day job, however work was completed in 10 days and the quality was unmatched.
