Prior to this year, I would have given Knox Roofing a good review. However, I was just informed that when they put in my roof (about 10 years ago), they allowed all the debris to fall in my attic. This became a great bed for rodents. In addition, they allowed all of my insulation to drop. Consequently, my freezing house had absolutely no insulation. Good to know if you are planning a roofing job with Knox.

Shocked at the MESS at the site of reroofing in Carmel Valley. Small scraps of "tar paper," bags, clear wrap, smashed water bottles - all blowing around and down into the neighbor's yard and dangling from oak trees. 2 weeks of untiled roof and then, today, steady rain on the felt roof and lumber.
To top it off, likely no recycling of vintage roof tiles which could have/should have been reused. Habitat for Humanity??!!
I am thankful for my roofer - a smaller company with high reviews. He also was 1/3 price of the companies with more familiar names (heavy advertisers).

I am giving Knox Roofing 5 stars, and let me say things did NOT go as planned. This might sound crazy, but let me explain. One would think a roof is a roof; how hard can it be. But, there are some unknowns once the old one is torn off. I appreciated Knox and all of the employees because they wanted to do the job correctly, not just get it done and collect a check. We experienced some expected and unexpected challenges, but Knox kept to the contract and did everything they had promised. The only item that we were charged extra for was some plywood replacement that could not be seen until after the

Top-Notch! As we bought our house about a decade ago, we knew the roof would need replacing in the not too distant future. His roofers are working across the street and although there were plenty of places to park they parked in front of my house. It's a public street so they have every right.
Except the driver of the truck asked me if I'd like him to move it and I said "sure, my girlfriend will be here soon and likes to park there."
He then walked across the street to the jobsite and began a conversation with his co-worker, loudly. Apparently he didn't think I understood Spanish and was saying things like "tell him to ____ my ____.
So no surprise 4 hrs later he's still there.

We called Knox Roofing to replace the roof on a mobile home we bought in Santa Cruz. They were knowledgeable about the special state permit process for mobile home roofing, and did an excellent job replacing the roof in 2 days. The crew was efficient and friendly, and the customer service we received from the office and the work crew was excellent throughout. This was our third time hiring Knox, and we highly recommend them for any roofing job.

Proper pre-tests such as a pull test. My job was done between other jobs At their convenience. The job strung out over 1.5 years and when all was done, the result was a decking full of bubbled up product.
I had the factory rep and another roofing company out both of which confirmed the issues was an application problem.
In response to the problem, Knox roofing suggested a different solution with an additional charge to me exceeding $10,000.00. In the end, I agreed to have them keep the $500.00 down payment and have since moved on to another company

I cannot say how much I appreciated every interaction I had with this great company. From the initial call to final accounting, everything was professional, high quality, responsive, and all delivered with good nature and efficiency. My garden was cleaner after Knox left than it was when they arrived, and the new roof/chimney/gutters are just beautiful. I highly recommend this firm for your roofing needs - large or small!

We had an unusual issue. Dead vines stuck in the rain gutter and underneath roof shingles, hanging down from a steep 20' roof that I couldn't get up to and looking very ugly. I called several different roofers, tree trimmers, and gutter cleaners and no one would come out to do the job. Luckily Knox came through for us and did a terrific job at a reasonable cost. Did the job but added about 5K for repair work which was just about half of what the total bid for the job upon signing the contract. Didn't send pictures at all of the repair work as requested but the GC was assertively aggressive and persistent when collecting payment including threats for a lean on the property - mind you they never sent any updates or confirmation of completed job and did get full payment within 10 days of completing the job.

I just recently had my roof replaced in Santa Cruz. I had several bids and finally decided to go with Knox. I am very glad I did. Their crews showed up as scheduled, really got the job done right and were a delight to work with. There were several "surprises" from the previous roof job (done 30 years ago) and the Knox crew was able to handle all of them in a timely and very professional manner. We have now had two different rainy systems pass through the area and it is so wonderful to have the existing leak problems solved! Very great group to work with. I appreciate their work immensely

I had to get back in contact with them on the roof they did for me to find some matching shingles. I thought the roof was just a couple of years old because it is in Perfect the shape with no issues. Time does fly they did the roof in 2002!They were great then they are great now. Roof is in a very windy harsh weather area with not so much as one loose shingle. They were so great I had them out to do a small shed for me. The were fast, totally professional from start to finish and a great deal. The best

Francisco did make it eventually for an inspection a few days later than the initial date. Hopefully, the whole process will get smoother and smoother as I proceed with getting Knox to repair my roof by mid of next month. I hope to turn this to a 5 star review after the fix.

Second or third winter, we had water intrusion after a storm - and it came in through the undersized ridge vent they installed.
I called and after A LOT of hassle, they agreed to "repair" the roof
Now 10 years later - take a look at how effective the "repair" is
Water intrusion under the shingles, a bad job that resulted in rotting wood
NEVER USE KNOX
