Energy Home Solutions was founded by Matthew Ricker and David Cogburn, two childhood friends with extensive construction experience. Their early focus was on gutters and insulation, though they had experience with all facets of construction including carpentry, tile work and roofing. Our early work was mostly directly for homeowners.
Energy Home Solutions is proud to bring our knowledge of building science to the East Tennessee area to serve you. While our primary focus is energy efficiency and insulation, we also provide roofing and gutter installation and maintenance. Our company principals have a combined experience of over 20 years in building science and insulation codes.
Energy Home Solutions is a full-service construction company and TN licensed general contractor. After many years in construction learning a variety of trades, our founders started EHS to serve East Tennessee homeowners. Our focus has always been outstanding customer service, high quality work, and reasonable rates.
Insulation is a critical building component for ensuring the comfort, energy efficiency, and ongoing power & gas bill savings for any new construction or remodeling. Our company works with a wide variety of insulation systems and materials including fiberglass, cellulose, spray-in, AirKrete, foam boards and more.
Adding and maintaining a gutter system for your home is important for preventing water damage, preserving your foundation, and preventing moisture and mold in your basement, cellar, or crawlspace. We provide a full range of gutter related services including installation of seamless gutters and gutter guards, one time gutter cleaning, and an ongoing gutter maintenance program.

When they have called me in the past I have asked to be removed from their lists. Today when they called and hung up on me when I answered I called back and when I heard the name of the company I asked to“please remove me from your list”. I was immediately hung up on. I called back and the person answering the phone answered and said “Ms. Teressa you’ve been removed from our list” and immediately hung up on me again. I did call back and was put into their answering service.

They did a great job for us on a big gutter installation for a large historic home we are remodeling. Their quote was competitive, they were very responsive, showed up reliably, and had quality materials and workmanship. We were very impressed and will have them do the insulation work when we get to that stage of the project.

This company is very knowledgeable about building science and did a good job consulting with us on ways of keeping moisture and vapor out of the walls and foundation and making our house more energy efficient. In addition to doing a great job on our gutters, we are also hiring them to insulate our house and put a moisture barrier in our crawlspace. They are easy to communicate with beforehand and did a great job cleaning up the job site when they were finished. Highly recommended.
