There are many factors that influence the life of an HVAC unit but the average tends to be between 15 and 20 years. Performing standard maintenance on a unit can significantly increase the life of the unit and we've seen HVAC units last upwards of 25 years when properly maintained. Eventually though, all HVAC units will need to be replaced.
Both maintenance and repair services are essential components of keeping your HVAC equipment operating efficiently and effectively throughout the life of your appliance. Maintenance services are preventative in nature whereas Repair Services are unplanned. Though they have the same goal in their execution-a heating and cooling system operating at peak performance levels-maintenance and repair services are also very different processes.
My boiler was not working and had a worrisome burning smell. I entered a service need on homeadvisor and Nick from R & S Heating and Cooling called me right away. Nick arrived as scheduled and thoroughly checked, tested, and diagnosed the issues. He explained everything and the cost beforehand, and answered all my questions.

Nick went above and beyond to get my furnace working before Thanksgiving. He put in long hours so that I could make it up north to be with a terminally ill family member. I’ve used R&S for years and have never been disappointed. They take the time to explain what is going on, and as a woman, they’ve never talked down to me or treated me unprofessionally.

Great company with great people. Called Nick and told him my AC stopped working after the storm hit and he set me up for after hours because they were super booked.
Justin came the next day and fixed the issue and did the tune up as well. He was very friendly and certainly seem to know what he was doing. We asked him about 542 different questions since we are new home owners and are new to Michigan in general and he answered everything and never tried to rush us.
Now its been about 2 hours since he fixed everything and the house is cooling down and everything is fine.
