I delight in the entire experience-from sketching ideas and making models to rolling up my sleeves and working on the building site. It's a collaborative process, where design and construction work together seamlessly. I believe that one of the most important skills an architect can have is to be a good listener.

I'm here to understand your aspirations and work with you to transform this vision into reality. Our goal is to strike the right balance between your aesthetic, your functional needs, and the natural environment. The true reward is creating a space that improves your life. Over the years, I've built strong relationships with builders, structural engineers, interior designers, and even permit expediters.

This allows me to curate a whole team to help your project advance efficiently. We bring this expertise to a wide range of projects, from renovations and new construction to commercial. Building or remodeling a property is a huge investment, both financially and emotionally. A project will not be truly successful if it is simply on time and on budget.

Architect Craig O'Connell helps close family friends rebuild their dream vacation home in Calistoga. This renovated Victorian house by Craig O'Connell Architecture isn't exactly small. But we fell in love with the woodsy and warm nook spotted in this kitchen that was modernized with Danish style. White marble is pretty timeless, but it's definitely having a moment in the spotlight right now in kitchen and bathroom design.
These days, there are a ton of great DIY tools available- everything from readymade plans on the internet to 3D modeling programs. With sites like Houzz, it's easier than ever to learn about architecture and develop an understanding of the methods and techniques. An architect can be your professional resource who can help you to avoid problems.

I would unequivocally recommend Craig to anyone looking for an innovative, hard working, and collaborative architect and thought-partner on any residential project in the Bay Area. Last year I interviewed 17 architects before selecting Craig. Craig has been absolutely lights out working with me on a first of its kind housing project I’ve proposed to the city - a small scale, infill mixed affordable housing project in Corona Heights, SF (including a new four story, three unit building in SF) - that is currently working its way through the entitlement and permitting process. Craig is super responsive
