Since its inception, Benson & Bohl Architects has designed numerous infill projects that capture the image and vitality of their urban environments. Grocery stores, restaurants, theaters, churches, multifamily residential, and parking structures are examples of the infill uses that we have completed in urban and downtown locations.
Both Richard Benson and Randall Bohl had created many award winning retail projects before they launched their own practice two decades ago. Our experience covers all types of retail planning and architecture from regional malls to urban infill, neighborhood centers to 50 acre power centers, as well as specialized urban entertainment and mainstreet lifestyle centers.
Benson & Bohl Architects has developed a portfolio of award winning residential projects designed for all types of users, from low income families to seniors, including both market rate apartments and for-sale condominiums. Most of our projects have been high density, frame over podium construction on tight urban sites.
While the majority of Benson & Bohl projects have been for private developers, we have also worked well with public entities, finding that the skills we developed in the private sector, often with sensitive budgets and tight schedules, have served our public clients as well. We have completed civic structures and redevelopment projects for numerous cities, including the City of San Diego, Vista, Oceanside, El Cajon, Culver City and Reno, Nevada.
