Willett
TBE Principal, Ray Willett has been involved in Civic projects from American Samoa to Gwinnett County, GA (including the City of Sonoma, Bell Tower Seismic Retrofit pictured here). We understand what it's like to have seemingly crazy ideas, and we are happy to talk to you about yours. What was your background before you became an architect?

Before architecting, I worked as a graphic artist/designer for 14 years. It was fascinating work; I learned the trade in the Air Force after they rejected my request for B-52 tail-gunner due to poor eyesight. It was the last class for that job, I thought it would be an amazing way to see the world.

Was there any defining moment that led you to pursue your current path? After the Air Force, I worked at the Clark County School District as a Graphic Artist II. This was during a period of rapid transformation of the industry from analog to digital production and much of my work was focused on that technological transformation.
Services
Our mission is to offer our clients the most creative use of existing conditions, budget and time while honoring the desired aesthetics, programmatic needs, social considerations, and the well-being of the natural environment. Ben studied architecture in his home state at the University of Illinois.
The first step of any project is understanding what the jurisdiction the project located in will allow you to do. Both residential and commercial projects are governed by local zoning and development codes. The best time to come see us is as early as possible. We can help you determine if a project is feasible on a given site for your project, before you make your investment.

Very professional, excellent with design, and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet in your life. They understand the processes you'll have to go through with state and county requirements and that will save you a lot of headache when dealing with bureaucratic garbage. Really competent and trustworthy which is a must, but the fact they are just lovely people make the process feel a lot easier.
While you're there, visit the Community Supply store right next door! It's my favorite shop in Sonoma!!
