Ten Directions Design is a small architectural firm that specializes in designing new homes, residential remodels, and interior solutions throughout Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Since 1990 we have listened carefully to our customers and tailored our designs to match their needs while providing a balance of aesthetics and function.
All my projects are the synthesis of two streams of information and inspiration: my clients vision and dreams for the future, and their existing house and its history from the past. My role is dedicated to listening well to my clients as well as analyzing the house where they now reside. My designs transform the old restricted patterns of the current house into the new healthier patterns for the next phase of my client's lives.
If you want to remodel or expand your house, start with the design process. This process can help you identify what is lacking in your house, and how to correct those problems and improve your home. Only then are you ready to hire a contractor and get it built. Working with a professional designer or architect is a great way to go through this process and come out with blueprints you love.
Prepare "blueprints" and written specifications that detail the requirements for construction and meet Building Code and Zoning standards. What we especially appreciated was the close attention paid to finding our preferences and the presentation of a number of alternative solutions to specific problems.
I have designed meditation spaces for both individuals and organizations for over 30 years. Creating a meditation space in your home is a vote of confidence in your natural wakefulness. It can be as simple as a cushion placed in the corner of your bedroom, or as involved as a separate room devoted to your meditation practice.
