I just relocated to Greensboro and had my things in a private storage until I could find an apartment. I called American Van Lines based on the reviews at consumeraffairs.com. I have only used long distance movers before, but because of just moving here, I don't know anyone that could help me move, so I called and they fit me in with only 3 days notice. They sent 2 men. Once we got to my apartment, the first thing they did was put down floor protection! My long distance movers never did that. They put my bed back together, reassembled my kitchen table and reattached my mirror to my dresser

Buyer beware. MBM Moving Systems will carelessly damage your property during the move & they will not honor the full valuation protection coverage.
I paid for full valuation protection for my move & MBM is not honoring it & is not fairly valuing the items in my claim. MBM consistently undervalues the items & even rejected items even though the movers caused all of the damages, yelled, insulted, intimated me & refused to document the damages in their paperwork.
MBM rejected some items claiming they were packed by owner. There were absolutely no items packed by owner. The

I moved 5 hours across the state with MBM/American Van Lines. I had a great experience unlike some of the other reviews! The quote was reasonable and based on weight, not hours, and the moving coordinator was very friendly. The movers loaded my things one day and delivered them the next. They were also very friendly and thorough in protecting my items. Each item was labeled and inventoried at my old home and then checked off as it was brought into my new home. I would use their services again.

I was moving a small amount of valuable items across the country. This moving company won the contract through American Van Lines (the company we hired). The moving men seemed nice enough, polite, and timely enough - but they damaged an antique buffet that is not replaceable. They also damaged a tool box - the driver took pictures of all of those and told me he'd start the claim. He did not. The rep for the company was dishonest so many times and it really impacted our move. The biggest issue though was the lack of communication from the moving coordinator at MBM and their lack of visibility as to when our movers would actually arrive.
- We were told our move could take place on a Sunday. That is actually the day their crew resets their hours and only 48hrs ahead of time were we informed that we needed to move on Saturday instead.

Unethical predatory practices with estimates that are market appropriate until they show up to pack. How do professional estimators do their job to "win " business and packers are empowered to refuse to work unless you agree to them jacking up the price by 2 to 3 times estimate?
Do not use them as they are not professional. Bait and switch is their game. There is a special place (in jail) for these type people.

Not one box arrived without water damage or broken items...and they packed! If someone could explain how you snap a solid oak desk in half and a vacuum into 4 pieces, let me know. Run!!!

It's said that "the customer is always right." I can assure you if you hire American Van Lines/MBM Moving for your move, this is not the case. By far, this is the worst customer experience that my husband and I have ever encountered. (If I could give 0 stars on Yelp, I would, but 1 is the lowest rating.)

Initially, I had a difficult experience with my move last year. The owner of the company contacted me directly to find out the surrounding details and see what he could do to make it right. He took it upon himself to personally ensure my satisfaction with the resolution of the issues. I think it says something when the owner of a company is directly involved in customer service and satisfaction. I appreciate the business ethics exhibited by the owner, along with the prompt action taken to resolve the outstanding claim. I will consider using MBM for my next move.

Every person I spoke to at MBM regarding our move was very customer oriented, courteous, and concerned about us having a great moving experience. The moving crew was fantastic. They all did their best to make sure our property was not damaged when packing, moving, and filling the moving van. They all were friendly, respectful, courteous, hard working, and answered questions without hesitation.
There were no major glitches, except there was a discrepancy regarding the amount of boxes and types to be used once the crew arrived and we showed them what was to be packed for two different delivery locations

I was very pleased with my moving experience with MBM. My inquiries were handled professionally. The service representative was cordial and helpful regarding all my needs. I made several changes and they were all handled promptly and to my satisfaction. The packers/movers were friendly and very helpful. They handled my items with upmost care, warping all the items carefully. My only suggestion would be that the estimated cost was higher than the final cost. Moving is not something that is usually an enjoyable experience. The team that we worked with from MBM (American Van Lines) did everything they could to make our recent cross-state move a great experience. From working with our schedule to going the extra mile to get us moved in ahead of the recent winter storm that hit the east coast... The team of movers, the driver and the folks at the call center were all professional, curious and more than pleasant to deal with. I hope it will be years before we have to move again, but I will not hesitate to call on MBM for our next move.

I recently moved from Greensboro to Concord. I contacted MBM and spoke to someone who I thought to be very knowledgeable about moving. I told him my needs and asked plenty of questions. I have been burned my movers before so I wanted to be sure I got a good company.
Basically what it boils down to is that I recently sold a house and rented a 20 foot uhaul which was filled up with garage stuff and a freezer, washer and dryer, patio set, dining room table and various other things. I described this in detail to MBM and said they did not bill per item but by weight. They estimate for 1250 pounds

I have gone through multiple out of state moves as an adult and hired professional movers for all of them. I can say without a doubt that my move with MBM in the Summer of 2015 was the best. We moved from North Carolina to Ohio and from start to finish MBM did exactly what they told me they would do. It was my very first time moving on my own and I had thought it would be cheaper to do it myself. My brother agreed to help me but it was such a hassle trying to find an affordable moving truck and packing materials. I was a bit nervous, I ll admit. I know that MBM pulled down 2.5 stars on Google and less on Yelp. But I choose them because no other mover tried to get my business as hard as MBM and no other was as professional in trying to get my business. And, they made me a better offer than any other mover. MBM let me place my own locks on the truck for storage. Other movers basically hung up on me when I said that I wanted my own locks on the truck. They seemed attentive on the phone and had some good (albeit probably fake) reviews online. They also offered me one of the best deals for a cross-country move so I decided to take my chances and go with them. Bad decision. I heard about MBM from a family friend who spoke very highly of this moving company, so I expected decent results.
The movers arrived in time and carefully packed and loaded all of my items as if they were moving their own things. I took delivery at my new location on a scheduled day and time. I couldn’t be happier since nothing got damaged even though I expected some things to be.
If I need to move in the future, I will definitely be calling MBM.

I moved only a couple of times in my life with no professional assistance. Last time it was a decade ago, so I had no clue where to start in order to handle this move. Our close friend advised us to call MBM Moving Systems. So we did, and several other local companies as well. Though MBM’s quote was a little higher I was impressed with the professionalism Jason answered my questions and thorough questionnaire we went through for precise estimate. Some things could easily be replaced but when it comes to antiques, we just did not want to take any chances.

I gave this company 2 stars solely because I do not want it to get filtered like the other 25 1 star reviews. This was the worst customer service experience of my life, bar none. The worst part about the move was not that it was delayed 5 times and arrived 17 days late, but that I called customer service ~120 times in the last 3 weeks, and they answered the phone maybe 8 times.
