I just moved cross country from Chicago to Arizona, and was more than a little nervous to have all of my belongings moved and out of my control. Other companies quoted me similar prices, but had terrible reviews and absurdly long pick-up or delivery windows. Bernard Movers sent someone to come check out my stuff, gave me a realistic quote, and then booked a pick-up date and gave me a delivery window of 2 days. My fiancé and I have finally secured an apartment. He was born in Chicago, IL , however, I am still new to the windy city. Everything, and I do mean everything has been an adjustment. Bernard movers did an amazing job helping with the move. They arrived early and although the service elevator in the building was still not able to be used, they got right to work and moved everything out so swiftly. They did just as an amazing job moving everything in and reassembling. They were all so helpful. Thank you Krystian, Jacob, and I apologize but I cannot read the last name of the third worker but he was just as amazing (begins with 'Se' and ends in 'ver'). All three gentlemen did an amazing job!

I have turned to Bernard Movers three times and have always been happy with the service they provide. The first time was an emergency: my husband passed away suddenly and the property manager at his hair salon offered to waive the remaining rent on his lease if we could vacate the space in 5 days. The people from Bernard did a great job. From Mina and Greg down to the 4 man team that arrived for the actual move. On one of the hottest days of the year. I worked for this company as a mover (worked for other moving companies across the country since and before) - Bernard is the best you'll find; both as a customer or employee imo. The warehouse manager 'G' made sure we were all closely trained to be safe, but also to be time and materials efficient (which almost always led to our crew being tipped). I def became a better mover through Bernard and have since trained others balance/power techniques they always seem impressed with and use going forward.

2 bedroom apartment under 1000 square feet without a couch.
Budgeted 4 hours - move took over 7 hours.
One stop en route to destination to retrieve a bubble wrapped desk and 4 armchairs - movers managed to shatter a bubble wrapped desk.
Having to call HQ to enforce the bedframe reassembly agreement was not good either, but HQ did enforce the bedframe reassembly agreement.

I Was sold on using Bernard movers the moment I spoke to Lynn Bernard. She was personable and forthcoming with all cost went over the move with me and got me the right amount of movers for the job. Moving day came I received a phone call prior to their arrival they were on time. Anthony, Big Juan, Benson and Sean we're all very professional personable and great to work with. After talking with Lynn Bernard on the phone I decided to go with their quote and book three movers. I was moving out of my family's suburban home in to a place downtown. Under their masks I could tell they came with bright shining faces even though the sky was dark, gloomy, and raining. I have two daughters, and moved one from Michigan to Virginia, and then to San Francisco, and then to New York, and moved the other from Michigan to Chicago, and then to Aurora IL, plus I have moved a few times in the past 10 years. I have moved with Bernard Movers twice before without issue. However, this time was a failure. When I scheduled the move, I went through the list of item that needed to be moved from my Chicago condo. Unfortunately, when the movers arrived (on time) the truck was way too small. We lost an hour waiting for a larger truck to show up. After the move, I called Lynn to get a credit for the lost hour, which the lead mover told me to do. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Lynne from Bernard Movers cancelled our move with absolutely no notice. She claimed that we got the day wrong when both my husband and I were in the phone with heir confining the date. She was rude , unprofessional and smug. Completely unwilling to admit fault or help resolve the situation . I'm actually glad it happens though , because we found a great mover that we can trust with our belongings. These guys were phenomenal! They showed up early, shrink wrapped all of our furniture, and moved it quickly and efficiently. They were also able to fit all of our things into a 7x10 storage unit. They did this all in masks on an over 90° day. Very satisfied with the service and am impressed by their safety measures.

Great work! Frank was the team leader. He was highly professional and pleasant, as were the rest of the three man crew. They were on time to arrive, very polite and efficient. They asked questions to make sure they were doing what I wanted, and followed directions well. Finished ahead of time and did not damage or lose anything. They even brought up a pencil l left behind.
Note there's a three hour minimum but I gladly paid it - they made things so easy. Highly recommended.

This was the best move and excellent experience I have ever had. The guys were professional and were quick. I had taped and wrapped my boxes and stuff and they came and started moving right away. Everything is in good condition and no damage. These movers are awesome and if I ever need a move I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs a move. Bernard Movers in Chicago were able to accommodate a last minute request and sent me three of the best in the biz. Big Juan, Dimitri and Kentrey arrived right on time, they were big, friendly and total pros when it came to getting all my stuff out of my apartment and into a new house with total care and even helped tighten loose furniture. These guys do back breaking work with such precision and got the job done under the estimated time which meant saving me a pretty penny. I am so impressed with this company and will always recommend them and use them for any future needs.

I had another excellent experience with Bernard movers yesterday. They sent me three guys (Vinnie, Gus, and Chris) who were very quick, friendly, and helpful. They went above and beyond by helping me set up some furniture pieces. I was very impressed by their work and speed. This is my third time using Bernard because I trust them.
They deserve five stars but I will comment that even though I have used Bernard three times, the company doesn't have any record that I have used them meaning which is kind of annoying. I'm moving the same stuff and it would be better to update the furniture

My parents used Bernard Movers last summer. They recommended them to my wife and I. There's a reason they have been in business for so long. Their quote for the job was fairly priced and well explained. The movers did an excellent job. They were right on time and they moved quickly. It wasn't until they really got going that I realized the magnitude of the job they were doing. When getting to our new place, they needed to move through very tight areas that I wasn't sure certain furniture would fit through. They made it happen! Although we had a minor piece of glass that cracked on a piece of furniture

When I bought my dream condo in the Loop, I never imagined what a nightmare move would look like. I didn't own a lot of expensive things and didn't feel like it was necessary to go through the steps of paying an expensive company extra money just to move my things five blocks, but I was VERY WRONG!
I hired Bernard Movers in December of 2016. The majority of the move seemed to go well. I had three or four movers. They used dolly's and carried almost all large items in safely.
