These pests are hard to control, and they require a whole green approach for ant pest control to exterminate them. Learn more about or ant control solutions. When necessary to protect you, your pets and property, we may use products that are on the "Low Impact Pesticide List" and the "Reduced Risk List".

The pest control industry has made huge advances in the safety and efficacy of products approved for home use. We now know so much more about the biology and relationships between insects, rodents, and the eco systems that we are all a part of. As an example, building a home on what was a bare field, creates a micro climate that encourages some pests, and discourages others.

Every property we service is unique, and so are our pest treatments. When you see a competitors pest control truck equipted with a big tank and spray rig, you can bet that almost all their customers get the same spray, in the same concentrations, in the same ways. That is very efficient, and cost saving for the spray and pray companies.
Services
27 Years ago, we named our company Nature First Pest Control Portland because we knew that our Portland friends and neighbors were looking for a green and more organic choice in pest control services. We took a different path than the rest of the industry. While there were many commercial accounts that required long term programs with monthly visits, most homeowners in the Portland area really did not need that type of service.
Serving the Portland Metro Areas including Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard, Sherwood, West Linn, Lake Oswego, Wilsonville, Gresham, Milwaukie, Gladstone, and other surrounding areas. We are ant exterminators using sustainable, organic and green methods to safely exterminate ants in and around Portland Oregon and Seattle Wa. homes and businesses.

Serving Portland Metro Area including Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard, Sherwood, West Linn, Lake Oswego, Wilsonville, Gresham, Milwaukie, Gladstone, and other surrounding areas. Stay away from any company that puts out bait and assures you that the rodents will leave your house and go to water. This is total BS.
These images are of a Yellow Jacket nest located on an eave before we removed it. This is an especially dangerous nest because of its location. The second image shows the interior layout of the nest. Yellow Jackets can be a big problem for us in Oregon. There are several sub species found here and they all sting repeatedly, unlike honey bees that can only sting once.

Critical: Professionalism, Value
The owner treated my house like he owned the place, even brought a camera crew for a commercial without asking me. Ripped things off my house, drilled in the wall, never asked. Also seems pretty shady whether this is really a natural, non-toxic business, wouldn’t give me a straight answer when i asked. Avoid.

I called Nature First to get some guidance on controlling rodent populations in my yard- although it turns out I don't need their services right now they were incredibly helpful. Randy called me back and talked through options and suggestions and gave me some next steps to try before needing some help. Other pest control folks have always felt aggressively sale-sy and I really appreciated someone honest who really understands rodent behavior.

As a Real Estate broker I deal with a lot of service providers and this is one I would not recommend. They did the job in less than 2 hours by plugging 6 holes (2 with sheet metal) and the others with canned wood 'foam" and putting 3 rat traps in the crawlspace a few feet apart from one another; all for $950! ( I saved $100 by checking the crawlspace traps myself thus it was $850)
The house was empty and access was very easy. I felt it just wasn't a fair exchange of what was done to the cost; I would go elsewhere.

I've been working with Nature First for a couple years and they have been fantastic. They are always very nice and take time to be sure they understand what is really going on. They are so knowledgeable and willing to give extra advice and have stood by their work even after the contract ended. I will be calling them for sure if anything else comes up, although I have a feeling their work will keep us pest-free for a while.

Nature First Pest Control is the company to call first!

The first time I used Nature First I had a mouse problem! My cat had excellent catching skills! Randy came out assessed the property and found a tiny hole in the air vent screen to the crawl space on my patio and showed me how they were getting in. He gave me suggestions on how to fix the problem and set some traps to catch any stragglers. From that point on- no more mice getting in!

I moved into my home 3ish years ago. The house had spiders, ants and fleas. I called Randy we set a date and he was on time. I was told the house, yard and

I feel like I've been scammed by this company. We had (have) rats in our attic. The owner, Randy, came out and promised me a comprehensive treatment plan - for $1,500. Yes, $1,500! I agreed to pay $700 down and the rest later in return for what Randy promised me (1) cameras in the eaves of the house to identify rodent trails/entry points; (2) removal of ants in our basement; (3) humane, pet friendly traps; (4) responsive treatment as needed. When Randy left the house he didn't tell his techs what he had seen or promised, so we had to explain it all over again. He didn't tell them

We used Nature First Pest Control to help with the ever lingering problem of sugar ants. Newberg is NOTORIOUS for this and often times people said it was useless to try anything and that it was inevitably unavoidable. Our last stop out of desperation was using a pest control and after some research Nature First was our top choice!

Long story short the ants are gone and have been for almost a year!

100% satisfaction and affordability during this transaction!

The day before the workers were scheduled to come and do work, we got a phone call from the company to tell us that the quote had nearly doubled (from $1295 to $1995)! (The initial quote was made by the first person from the company who spent quite awhile looking around the property, asking questions, etc.) This really seems unprofessional. But maybe they didn't want the job? Whatever, we cancelled the work. Not okay.

Either this gentleman is confused or just made up this story about the tenant. There was one meeting and it was with me. Either way this guy arguing with yelp reviews kinda tells you all you need to know.

After a few years of ant issues in my home and being treated by other pest control companies without success these guys knocked it out of the park.

After examining and identifying the type of ants I had they geared the treatment specifically for those species of ants. Not only did they get rid of the ants in one treatment they took the time to educate me on preventative measures.

Prices are expensive, but they do their job and with the safest methods. I've used them for ants, wasps, and spiders. They do guarantee their work. I've found the ant control often needs a second application to end the problem. A ground nest for wasps cost $230 to take out, when I found out that a simple dusting with Sevin that cost around $10 would solve the problem. So do your research and be sure you're not paying too much. If the prices were about 30% less, I'd give them five stars.

We just had a visit from Nature First Pest Control because we thought we had a powder post beetle infestation. Three men assured us that it was wall board powder we saw, not evidence of bugs. They didn't charge for this because we have used them before. They had sealed our house so that mice no longer visit, and had done some other work for us as well. They use as little toxic chemical as possible. Had we actually had these beetles, they have a chysanthemum based insecticide they use. We have used two other Angie's list recommended companies over the years, but this one really stands

Although expensive, they annihilated our fleas. I had bombed my house with no success and was skeptical of anything working, but this was a one time fix. I didn't even have to call them back, though they do offer to return if the problem isn't fixed. This was also much less toxic than bombing. As a pregnant person it was nice to come back to a flealess house that didn't smell. A month n a half later, we're still clean!

I called about some roaches that fell out of a box (long story) and ran underneath our washer and dryer. The owner was great. He told me all I had to do was sprinkle boric acid around the perimeter of the appliances and when the roaches walked through, they would die (these are non-native roaches so our cold climate will eventually kill them). The owner said it would be a waste of my money for him to come out and look because that's all he would do. Saved me time and money.

I have never been treated so rudely by someone in customer service. Before I even explained my problem, after being rude and flippant, he said "I'm gonna pass" and hung up on me. Don't even call, it isn't worth your time.

I'd had ants for the entire 8 years I'd lived in my house. I'd had a contract with Terminix for a few years and it felt fairly useless. I got used to never leaving a crumb or bit of food residue anywhere. I didn't use the half of my kitchen that was never ant-free. I never used our dishwasher because they would even get in there. Randy got rid of my ants last summer. He located and directly sprayed about 5 nests they found outside. He set up bait at their entry points in my kitchen and showed me how to add more every few days. I called him back once about a month later because
