We purchased a classic Piedmont home built in the late 1920's, with a fine overlay of 1960's upgrades. We went through a different architect for the first round of structural upgrades, but while technically competent,did not get a vision for realizing the potential of the home. Tecta introduced a completely new way of thinking about the space, and created a unique and beautiful space, with dramatically better usability. I organized installation of a classic flap sign to display ferry schedule information in San Francisco's Ferry Building. The process was a living Hell until I was pointed to Patrick Whelan and Ahmad Mohazab of Tecta. Leavening peerless architectural skill with humor, philosophy, people skills and, above all, a consummate understanding of San Francisco's Byzantine/Kafkaesque -- sadistic, really --permitting process, they saw this project through.
I would have paid three times what they asked.

Tecta designed an extensive remodel for our mid-century modern home and it turned out beautifully. The head architect, Ahmad Mohazbad, is particularly gifted when it comes to creating major architectural elements. We opened up the ceilings in a cool unusual way, added dramatic skylights, and created a more sophisticated entryway. We struggled with some of the more mundane interior aspects, but all the details came together well in the end. Everyone at Tecta was pleasant and easy to interact with, even when I needed emotional support during the long tough project. We highly recommend Tecta
