Owner Tim came out in the rain and did an emergency tarp when my interior bedroom ceiling was leaking & getting stained. Jan is top-notch too. She was able to get my insurance to accept a rewritten bid & put more money ( and repairs ) into my claim. They are very responsible & try their best to satisfy all your concerns . I would definitely hire them again !

Des Moines Area Roofing was easy to work with for a complete roof replacement with an insurance claim. They came and completed the work as promised and when I had a question about something once the work was completed, they inspected and fixed the issue within a day. Definitely would recommend.

We had Des Moines Area Roofing replace our roof on our house, attached garage, detached garage and shed after a hail storm totaled it. Tim Wolfswinkel , the owner, is very professional thorough and just a great guy to work with. Every other contractor we contacted 1) would not work with our insurance company and 2) said they would put up a ridge vent. Tim said he WOULD work with the insurance company and a ridge vent was not a good choice for our roof as the pitch wasn't steep enough. He suggested 13 box vents along the back side of the house and attached garage. He said the ridge vent would cause

While most roofing companies are price competitive with each other, our experience with Des Moines Area Roofing yielded a professional, hard working crew that showed up when promised and was receptive to any special issues that came up during our re-roof. Tim explained that because of a chance of rain, the crew would only rip off what they could safely re-shingle prior to any forecast rain.
Their clean-up was extremely thorough; we've found only a couple nails.
Bottom line: our neighbor contracted with them after watching them re-roof out house and after receiving a couple other bids.

We had Tim consult on some roof repairs. He was able to quickly identify the issues and he was extremely honest with the next steps. I could tell the level of experience he brings. I really appreciate contractors that tell it to me straight, not just for the sale, but because it's the right thing to do for the customer. I would recommend Tim and his company to any of my friends and family because I know the right work would get done.
