Services
Formerly Wilson Estes Police Architects, we recently changed our name to Police Facility Design Group to more clearly communicate who we are and what we do. Police Facility Design Group was founded in 1978 as "Polson Architects, Law Enforcement Specialists", following the completion of participation in a four-year federal study to understand the limitations deficient facilities have on the delivery of police services.
A needs study can be a crucial part of the planning process. Through this phase, the Police Facility Design Group team works closely with the client. Real problems in your existing facility are identified and solutions are explored from the beginning. The needs study arms the client with powerful decision making information, allowing the client to enter into the design phase with confidence.
Police Facility Design Group offers preliminary planning assistance at no charge to law enforcement agencies on a daily basis. This rudimentary analysis, which includes preliminary facility size and cost information, is derived from our comprehensive database, developed from over thirty-five years of service to departments nationwide.
On these types of projects, Police Facility Design Group (PFDG) typically leads in the need assessment, programming, master planning and schematic design portions of the work. In many recent projects where we have teamed with a local architect, PFDG has also continued through construction phase work with an active role in the development of project interiors to ensure the functional aspects of the project are maintained.
