This company will bully you into services. I hired them to complete a tune-up. They came out at the specified time, explained that my door was unsafe and I needed all 15 hinges replaced for $742. The tech continued telling us that our spring needed tightened even though we completed that service 3 years prior. He then continued to bully about the… safety of the garage door. We folded and had 6 hinges replaced and the spring tightened for $532. Further, the invoice, once we received via email, stated that the door would not open and close and was deemed unsafe for use which is a bold face

I had them come out to take a look at my garage door, which had problems opening especially in cold weather. They told me I need a new garage door, and quoted $2900. I subsequently called someone else - Colorado Garage Door - they came and said I didn't need a new garage door (and even if I did, it would cost me at most $1900). They replaced the coils and the rollers - for $330 and my door is working perfectly.

Garage door opener wasn't working. Tried everything I know to get it to work. Called GDS and was given a 9-12 window the next day Shaun showed up after 12:30 after I called. He looked it over and said the motor is seized and it needs a new unit. He gave an estimate of $570. We thought that was too high so we paid $21 for the service call and let him go on his way. We called another Garage Door Company and the next day the tech showed up on time and diagnosed the problem was with a misaligned sensor. He adjusted the sensor & got it working in 2 minutes. Our home warranty company sent a referral to have this company come take care of a problem with our garage door opener. Twice I had to take the day off work to wait for them with no show and no call. Let the warranty company know we would not tolerate this kind of service, and they assured us they will no longer do business with them. From now on before accepting a referral I will always research the company being sent to our home for ratings and reviews.

My 17 year old garage door wasn't opening with the push button unit. I called several companies in the Valpak mailing. Garage Door service had availability the soonest so I scheduled them. They were 2 hours late. When they arrived and inspected the problem, they gave me a quote that sounded too high so I called another company on the spot for comparison. These scam artists arrived to my house and looked at my door and told me that they would replace just one panel and fix the opener for right around an affordable $3000.
I said, WOW! NO THANKS! They seemed like they were very angry with my response and then told me that I have to pay them $30 for the estimate. The ad I still have from their company clearly states...

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL. Spent a lot of money to have them come out and fix the problem. The problem was temporarily fixed and then a week later same thing happened again. Then they claimed to tell me its other issues and charge me more money rather then fixing the situation the first time and resolving the issues the first time. Don't feel they are professional and know what they are doing. When I called to discuss the issue they did not handle this respectfully and argued with me. Poor customer service.

Avoid them. Had a broken spring fixed on a 5yr old garage door. Everything seemed fine until the Winter and cold hit. Now you need to raise and lower the door 3-4 times each time because it sticks part way up every time. Only happens on cold days. Called to have them fix their install mistake as nothing like this ever happened before they touched it. Now hitting me with the service call fee and "we'll give you the estimate for what needs to get done and you can decide from their". They are there to rip you off...avoid them.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was out of town when our old opener died. Wife called this company. Sold her a guardian brand opener. Never heard of the company. The new guardian opener quit working 5 weeks later. Cost $109 in labor to replace the broken one. Checked the manufacturer warranty and the opener has a 12 month warranty. Warranty doesn't say labor isn't included. Tried calling both companies and neither has returned my call. Buyer beware when considering both Garage Door Services and Guardian Openers!

The only reason I'm not giving them a five star is because the first technician they sent out was a nightmare. His name was Fernando Salazar and he was trying to charge my wife 286.00 dollars to repair my garage door. My wife called me at work and had him tell me what was wrong with my garage door. First he told me that the motor needed to be re-adjusted and it would cost 286.00 dollar. when I told him that I didn't pay that much for a new motor he said he could fix the J hook for 150.00 dollars. I can't give anything other than one star. Made an appointment for an estimate, No one ever showed up....Nor did they call. I thought maybe one more try. Spent 3 hours on a Saturday waiting around and still got no call or stop by.

Had an Incident with our Garage door after hours, and after calling around to several companies with no answer, we found an Ad in "The Home Mag" advertising "Discount Garage Door repair." They had a 24/7 service, so out of desperation we called them as our garage and home were now open to opportunists and thieves so we wanted to get this fixed ASAP. Complete SCAM. GDS overcharges for all parts and labor. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They hide under multiple names. The invoice was written for Denver's Choice Garage Doors, LLC (which is out of business). They bill under GDS (on my credit card) with a different address and phone number then what is printed on my invoice. By the way, the address for GDS is a storage unit. The website in which to reach them is Denver Overhead Doors. It is incredibly misleading. GDS has a terrible reputation so they hide behind other company names. I am reporting them to the DORA, BBB and my credit card

Tried to open my garage door this morning to find one of the main tension springs had broken. Called GDS around 9:30am, they said they'd have someone out by 2pm. Service person (Jake) called 30 minutes in advance of the appointment to confirm. He showed up right on time. Diagnosed problem, had the replacement springs on the truck, make the repair, was finished in 35 minutes. Plus he helped me "pair" my garage door openers to my new car (thank you Jack).

Be ADVISED, WARNED, or whatever you need to avoid using this company. They operate very sneaky and hide behind other names online. I Had them out to fix a simple issue with a non working garage door opener. I was quoted over $1,400 to fix the problem. I laughed and asked how much a new one would cost. The quote was $600 plus install costs! After looking online come to find out they are anywhere from $150 - $300. I was also quoted $200 per spring (2)to replace. These are $20-30 each and anyone with some vice grips and a little knowledge of how to run a wrench could do it them-self in 15 minutes
