Starting with a small shop in the what is now the River Arts District of Asheville, NC Dave Steel Company would go on to take part in building the Arsenal of Democracy for World War II and manufacturing components for the landing ships that would carry American GIs to the beaches of the Philippines and Normandy.

We strive to get engaged early with our customers to offer our expertise in the design and execution strategy of the project. Our goal is to help the construction team with the best value approaches to their design.
Our engineering department is structured to provide full service connection engineering and detailing services to support our customers projects. Where projects call for the steel fabricator to provide these connection engineering services, we will submit to the engineer a concise and clear "engineering package" that allows easy review of calculations and details.
Dave Steel Company prides itself being on the leading edge of structural steel fabrication technology. We firmly believe the future health our industry relies on the implementation of those automated tools available on the market. Dave Steel Company was the first fabricator in North America to implement a fully integrated saw/drill/coping with intelligent conveyor routing module utilizing xml files from detailing software.
Dave Steel Company has a dedicated environmentally controlled coatings facility for application of coating systems ranging from standard primers to sophisticated multi-coat systems. Each piece is blast cleaned through our conveyor driven blast cabinet, using reusable steel shot. For safety and expediency, each piece is handled by large forklifts, laying out for coating application, and then moving outdoors to be staged and then loaded on trucks.
