Aspire Fine Homes (then called Whitestone Builders) was founded by David Gordon in 2004 with the goal of reinventing the custom home building process. As a native Houstonian, David's interest in building came at a very young age as he watched houses being built from his bedroom window. Growing up in a new subdivision, he watched the construction process on the lots around his home and wondered about one day building houses himself.
These French-influenced homes feature sloping, gabled roofs with dormer windows and large front porches. They often have a Colonial style layout, with rooms arranged on either side of a central hallway and the kitchen at the back of the house. Homes that blend traditional designs with clean, modern lines to create an elegant, enduring aesthetic that is both comfortable and classic.
Traditional styles are classic homes which bring together influences from many American styles to evoke images of timeless elegance. Traditional homes offer the warmth and comfort many remember from their childhood homes, with conservative color palettes, rich wood tones, ornate decorative details, and classic prints.
My wife and I had been looking for several years to move into town to be closer to our older daughter and her family. On a Sunday leaving their house in Oak Forest, we stopped at an open house in Garden Oaks. Once we stepped in, we knew we had found our builder! From the crown molding to the appliances to all of the finishes, the attention to detail was the best we had ever seen.

The entire process ended up being... exhausting.
After the initial rosy sales pitch and signing of the contract, things quickly changed and we had to deal with poor communication, constant delays with a lack of transparency, and added costs. The finished house is rife with poor craftsmanship and a lack of attention to detail. Quality control has been woefully lacking. With each passing day in our brand new custom build home, we find more and more examples of poor workmanship.
Don't take my word for it; here are a few examples:
1. Front door of the house won't fully lock when the door

We had the opportunity to work with Aspire Fine Homes and David Gordon to build our dream house last year.
Aspire has an in house team that covered all phases of the project from architecture to landscaping, which gave us a one stop shop where the Aspire team had accountability for every aspect of the project. David was very flexible in the design elements of our project and very clear on budget, and selection impacts on budget, from the very first meeting we had with him when we acquired the land.
We had a few minor bumps along the way, but every time we called to voice concerns either on the

We started working with the team of Aspire Fine Homes in late December of 2018. From day 1, David and the team were easy and fun to work with. The guidelines given during the early process, helped us understand the timeline of building such a beautiful home. Everyone of the vendors that helped us with selections were ultimate professionals and very, very helpful.
Once the building process started, we were assigned a project manager that would guide us through decisions that had to be made as the project moved along. The project manager was a true gem going far and beyond to make us happy and informed
