The Green Leaf owner is a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in forestry and plant management. He also gained in-depth know-how and experience in horticulture, landscaping, and eco-friendly maintenance by working 11 years at Cornell botanical gardens. He built a team that now prides itself with more than 20 years of combined experience in the environmental field.

Jim and his team did a great job during all steps of the process: consulting, planning, and executing the project. They provided a detailed estimate, and did everything they said they were going to do, cleanly and quickly. Jim also gave us some advice on how to care for our trees and shrubs. And the patio stairs they rebuilt were well designed and incorporated materials we already had. All in all, excellent experience, and we will continue to work with Green Leaf Horticulture & Hardscapes in the future.

Jim and his team rebuilt the waterfront and retaining walls at our Girl Scout Camp Comstock in Ithaca. We couldn't be happier with the result and will hopefully bring them back next spring to do more work. They're friendly and professional, and I would gladly recommend them.

Green Leaf Horticulture is an excellent landscaping and hardscaping team. Jim Barden and his team solves major drainage and water issues around my home and basement in a matter of weeks. They use top quality materials and understand the topography—from the soil types to the weather patterns. I had a retention wall built, two major drains with drain tiles for gutters and a surface drain completed in less than three weeks. They also offer other services from mowing to gravel installation.

Jim and his team completed a number of projects for us including a major drainage installation and recreation of the landscaping in our front yard. At every point Jim was excellent with communication, he came out to speak with us multiple times before each project, he was prompt, and his workers were clean and professional. We are thrilled with our new front yard and delighted that our basement is finally dry, thanks to the new drainage. I highly recommend Jim Barton and Green Leaf!

Jim has been taking care of my yard for three years now. He is dependable and trustworthy and he really knows what he's doing! I let him figure out what needs doing, and he has taken the initiative to figure out what I like, and he takes care of everything without my needing to interfere at all.
