In 2014 I started a company called Xerismart Water Solutions, LLC. The main focus of the company was conserving water through sprinkler system inspections, installing rain and stormwater harvesting systems, and creating landscapes using the principles of xeriscaping. Over the years we have expanded our scope to include building fences, decks, patios, outdoor living areas, and more.
Thus, in 2018, I began the process of re-branding the company as Olson Outdoor, LLC, to accommodate the broader types of services we offer. We still have the same passion for conserving water and solving landscaping problems, but we are now able to offer our clients a larger scope of possibilities.

Services
We offer a full range of landscape design and installation services from the start to the finish of a project. We can help design your landscape, select the appropriate types of plants/grasses, help decide if irrigation is necessary, provide a detailed design to help visualize the final product, and carry out the installation process.

Olson Outdoor did a great job fixing a drainage problem on one side of my house that another company had botched, previously.
My property is on a slight incline and heavy rains brings a ton of water to one side of the house. A few years back, I had it repaired by a *different* company, which installed a french drain to get rid of the water. After a few heavy rains, it was pretty clear this fix didn't solve the problem.
When Michael came by to give a quote, he saw the french drain and said that that's almost never the right solution to these types of drainage problems. He recommended

Finding a quality landscaping company in Austin is almost next to impossible. My husband and I preferred to deal with our terrible (and potentially hazardous) backyard for two years because we couldn't find one that was responsive, courteous, or affordable. Michael and his team installed a great looking AC fence around the ugly utility space in my backyard. I'm quite happy with it and will certainly look to them for future work. 4 stars instead of 5 because of a lapse in communication during the initial phase of the project. Otherwise, very happy :)

Had drainage issues and needed retaining wall, etc. done between my and neighbors houses where trash cans sit and access to backyard. Michael came out to see what problem was, offered suggestions, and followed up with a reasonable quote. They started the job on a Friday and came back Monday and finished on Tuesday. Did a fantastic job and it looks beautiful. Had a good rain a couple of days later and I was pleased to see that there is no longer a drainage problem there. Michael and his crew do great work. After collecting several bids and consulting with different companies, hands down Olson Outdoor shined way above the rest for punctuality, professionalism, cost and quality!!
We had severe water and mud issues and Olson addressed all the issues resulting in a beautiful backyard. We also had them install a trash screen and artificial turf.
Highly recommend!!

Please note; I have had several home repair people do more damage to my house than good and have left them appropriate reviews. This is the only positive experience I have had!
Michael built my deck years ago and did a great job on the porch and patio. The deck was giving way do to the weight of container plants. Michael and his crew replaced the damaged wood, added supports, and did not charge me.
This goes way beyond good service. Integrity is still alive in some home repair and construction

I can't say enough great things about Michael and his team, who, in the space of a week, have transformed my dirt patch yard with crumbling shed into an absolute outdoor Oasis. I only wish I had taken some before pics for comparison! The crew was meticulous and very nice to my bratty pup who 'greeted' them every morning... This is my second project with Michael, and already looking forward to the next! Would not work with any other landscaper in Austin.

Michael and his team did a great job doing a handful of projects for us - a whole yard clean up, removal of an old planter box, and replacing rotting boards on a pergola. Everyone was very considerate of our property, and the communication was great. We will be calling Michael again if we need any more help with our yard in the future.

We needed a landscape refresh after a few years of drought and flood took a toll on the appeal of our yard. Michael Olson was extremely responsive and easy to with. He had great ideas about water-wise plants to use and redid much of our yard with stone. He also reconfigured part of our existing sprinkler system to work well with the new plants. He kept me informed about when he was going to start, and his crew was courteous and the work was done well and within a couple of days. Michael and his team recently xeriscaped a large portion of our 8,000 sq ft backyard. They started work on Monday morning and transferred and packed down 25 cubic yards of crushed granite to our backyard within 4.25 days! Amazing work from him and his team. We are extremely happy with the way things turned out. His crew kept everything tidy and always got to work on time right at 8 am and were very courteous not to be disruptive if they knew we were still home. I recommend Olson Outdoor 1000% and would definitely use them again in the future. Thanks, Michael!

I was having a problem with the sprinkler system that was installed by another company here in Austin Texas. Apparently they didn't test it properly before leaving the job and about one fourth of the yard was not giving water properly. I called him several times but no return phone call. I called another company for a quote to repair it or to make it work anyway. I was quoted $1750 and they claimed this was the only way it would ever work. I decided to get a second opinion.
