While hardwood floors are very durable and retain their beauty for many years, it is sometimes necessary to refinish the floors to bring them back to their original condition. The refinishing process consists of removing old finish and stain, fixing imperfections that have occurred in the wood, staining and finally applying a finishing coats.
Endurance - How much traffic does the area get? Kitchen, family room and hallways generally get a lot more traffic than other areas of your home and may require a flooring choice that is more durable. You should also consider how children and pets may influence your choices. Livability - Do you want a soft, warm carpet, vinyl or cork floor underfoot or would you prefer the look of a hard surface floor such as hardwood, laminate or ceramic tile?.
Do use doormats at the entrance to your home in order to help keep dirt and grime off the wood floors. Use area rugs or small sections of carpet placed inside doorways and in areas like kitchens where spills are likely to occur. Don't use throw rugs with rubber or vinyl backing without checking to determine if they will affect your floor's finish.

I couldn't be happier with the quality of the job done and the price. My floors were faded and peeling and Magni Flooring's Marcin came out quickly to look at my floors and listened to my needs which lead to Magni Flooring giving me the best quote (they asked questions and gave me information others did not). Marcin was able to schedule refinishing my floors for when I was out of town so I, personally, didn't have to live with the dust and mess. I just gave them a key, told them what I wanted, left town for the holidays, came back and things looked great--exactly what I asked for

Outstanding. Marcin came to the house right away and gave us an estimate. Once the insurance company paid the damage claim, we got scheduled in a week and work started right on time. He had the right sized crew of four who were able to get everything done from moving big furniture around, stripping the old flooring out and installing the new hardwood floor. The floor is beautiful and perfectly installed. They had taken photos of each room so they knew exactly where to put everything back. They finished up by giving the whole floor a good cleaning up. We hope we never need another floor replacement

Marcin, the owner, and his whole team did a fantastic job with consulting and installing vinyl planking in my furnished basement including a bedroom and kitchenette, which required the removal of existing carpet and tile. They leveled part of the floor and final installed product looks incredibly clean and stylish. The team also refinished my wooden stairs and were able to match the color of the existing upstairs wood.
What I appreciated most was that Marcin took the time to explain why they were doing some of the work the way they did when I had questions. I would agree with the previous reviewers

This business has a profile that clearly states they serve the District of Columbia and surrounding areas. I called and I was very quickly told that they DO NOT serve the District...only Virginia and Maryland!!

Marcin and his crew did an excellent job turning the old and ugly oak floors in our newly purchased home into a beautiful greyish-brown. The price was fair and communcation good throughout the process. Obviously, I cannot yet say anything about the longevity of their work. Magni flooring did an impeccable job repairing my floor from where I had removed a wall and there were holes from where it was attached to the subfloor. Communication with the team was great and this was one of the only companies I could find that would repair part of the floor instead of redoing the whole floor. I will definitely hire them again in the future.

We just had hardwood floors installed by Magni Flooring on Eisenhower. Small local business run by Marcin and his crew, does great work, hardwood refinishing, installations, carpeting. They refinished our kitchen floor, removed and replaced some water damaged boards, then installed new flooring in the living room, and made it look seamless between the old floor and new floor. We also had them replace the carpet on the stairs to be all wood, and that was just gorgeous! And then had him replace all the carpeting upstairs, a plush neutral with a hint of gray. Marcin and his team are thoroughly professional, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our original floors, 1930s era, were pretty dull, with plenty of scratches and blemishes. Absolutely amazing job, they quoted me a fair price that was within my budget. For perspective, others quoted me between 6k and 8k, and I knew they were over charging. However, when these guys came they were respectful, and provided a fair and honest estimate!
As for the work, they worked fast, they cleaned up afterwords, and the end product was flawless. Would defiantly use them again.

They were very responsive and came to the estimate prepared with samples and a quote before walking out the door. We were able to get our flooring done the next week. Project took a little longer than expected but that was due to the floors in our old house being uneven. The workers were incredibly professional and friendly and explained every issue they ran into thoroughly. The floors look amazing! We will definitely hire them again for our basement floors.

We had a water damaged 5" oak flooring from a water heater leak. Magni came the day I called, and gave me a good quote on the spot which we accepted. We scheduled the work, and they came on the appointed day, took pictures of the furniture and knock-knack placements. Moved everything out of the rooms and closets, and repaired the floors to perfection. When they were done they moved everything back to where it was, you could not even tell they were there.

I agree with Jason's review. I would give Magni a 6-star rating if I could. From the very beginning, they were professional and reliable. And their work was stellar. We were particularly impressed with the crew's attention to detail. Our floor is old and our space is quirky, and Magni was still able to make everything look great.

Before he left he provided me with a written quote and a day they could do the job. The whole estimate took 10 minutes max.

Marcin and his team are absolute PROs. We were listing our house to sell in a week, and the floor was the final project. Our trusted contractor (who has refinished wood floors for us before) ran into difficulty sanding our engineered wood floors, leaving burnt black scuff marks! We already had a large faded area and many scratches, some quite deep. I was terrified I was going to have to replace the entire floor, and the photographer was scheduled to shoot in 4 days!
