We are a construction duo (who also happens to be married) working and living in McMinnville, Oregon. We bring detailed craftsmanship and experience to large and small projects. From a full-scale kitchen remodel to waterproofing a window or minor roof repairs, our clients know that their house is safe in our hands.
From the beginning of the project to the end, you will be dealing with us (Shawn & Zina Hollman (see ABOUT US)). We are the office people, the design team, and the tradesman (see OUR SERVICES). SHAWN: I have been in construction since birth. Really. My dad started building houses with his brothers in the early 70's all over the Portland Metro area.
I have pictures of me and my brother with a hammer as early as 5 years old. I am not endorsing 5 year olds with hammers, but nonetheless, it's where my story begins. We are SO glad we found Shawn and his team to do our floors. They did such a great job replacing our gross old carpet with vinyl and removing the tile and laminate from our downstairs area. Shawn is super responsive and they were able to get done in a day and a half. The price was definitely reasonable and I appreciated that he didn’t tack on a bunch of hidden fees. I would highly recommend Green City Renovations for your next project!

Shawn finished out a wet bar in my basement and a renovation in the main kitchen upstairs. He was responsive, performed quality work, and worked with me to accomplish the vision I had for both spaces. He had several good suggestions for improvement; providing his experience and input instead of simply being an order-taker.

We are very happy with the tiling work we just had done in our master bath by Green City Renovations…the floor came out beautifully! He came to our home, looked at our kitchen, talked to us about what we wanted, and made recommendations and suggestions. This park was fun for my kids. We did the scavenger hunt and found all the items around the play structures. This green structure was a favorite. I like that the park is not very close to the main street. This park is not fenced in. It does however, have a baseball field to the east of the play structure and to the west of the play structure a tennis ball court, which is fenced in. There is limited parking. The walkway to the tennis ball court is very steep and may be slippery during the rainy and icy weather. The play area is wheelchair accessible, it does have a picnic table with an extension

Wow we are impressed with our skylights from Green City. We had 2 very old skylights that needed to be replaced. Sean the owner has good communication, he is extremely professional, honest, fast and affordable. Quality product and installation as far as I can tell. We haven't had any leaks after snow, hail or rain! I would recommend to my family and friends. You probably won't find anybody better.

I found this company through Angies List. Shawn the owner, gave a prompt and reasonable estimate, and discounted his labor significantly when I decided to have a second skylight replaced. Shawn was very personable and professional. He did a great job and we love the look of e new skylights quite a bit. I highly recommend this company.

If you are looking for skylights, I would highly recommend Green City. I contacted them, and got a prompt response from Shawn, the owner. He came out a couple of days later for an estimate. He was helpful in choosing the right size for the space, and going over the different options for features, etc.
The price was totally fair, and based on other reviews here I felt confident that the work would be of good quality. It took a week or so for the materials to arrive, and they came to install a couple of days later.

I hired Shawn to install two Velux skylights side-by-side for a new bathroom I'm building on the top floor of my 1 1/2 story house. It was new construction witth no light well framing needed. After waiting several weeks for a break in the weather we chose an installation date. Turns out the forecasters were wrong, the skies dumped several inches of rain later in the day! Luckily Shawn and his partner managed to cut the opening and screw down the skylights in the morning before the rain came. Did you know that getting a skylight installed in Portland is hard? Well, it is, but not for the reasons you would expect. I called all over town to anyone listed on Google looking for someone to do a relatively simple install of 2 skylights. As it turns out, it's damn near impossible to find a reliable company that is willing to sell you the skylight and complete the installation. I must've burned through 8 companies before I finally checked the Velux website for certified installers in PDX. Sure enough, Green City Skylights and Solar were one of only TWO companies on the list.
