Energy Quest is a technology and manufacturing company that specializes in integrated, multi-energy cooling, heating, and power systems. We received our first patent in 2003 for heat-driven refrigeration. In 2010 we started developing technology with the Army SBIR Phase 1 project. Additional patents, and patents pending, have been awarded for system enhancements invented as new systems and applications were created.
Energy Quest has developed a mobile system for the U.S. Army that produces 1.5 tons of cooling and 3 kW of 24VDC electrical power. The single integrated system replaced separate generator and air conditioning units that support vehicle mounted systems. The Army's objectives where to reduce fuel consumption by 30% over the currently fielded system and reduce weight by 30%.
Energy Quest has been funded by the U.S. Air Force to develop a full scale 15-ton cooling heating and power system. The single integrated system can run off of solar thermal energy, solar PV, natural gas, or grid power, allowing it to use the cheapest energy source. The system will also provide 7 kW of backup electrical power by operating on solar thermal or natural gas.
