After returning from WWII to a wife and two young children, Bob Roney Sr. opened Roney's Half-Price in Oakland, CA in 1946. Offering a variety goods, Bob packed the store to the rafters and offered a hands on approach to customer service that has been passed on down the line and continues today.
His two children, Katie and Bob Jr., joined the business in their twenties and eventually helped to relocate Roney's to it's current location in San Leandro, CA.Together with their children, Joanne and Robert, the Roney family continues to cultivate a 'customers first ' approach that distinguishes Roney's from other retail options for home furnishings.
Roney's San Leandro location was a National Guard Armory storing vehicles, munitions and offices until 1974, when Roney's acquired the property and choice showroom. With an expansive warehouse floor and high windowed ceiling that bathes the space in natural light, It is an ideal place to display and view our manufacturers.

We bought our bedroom set at Roney’s and we were so happy with the quality and workmanship that went into making this beautiful furniture! We dealt with Bob and he was friendly and extremely efficient with taking care of us. He even brought all that heavy furniture upstairs when he delivered it!! I would totally recommend Roney’s to anyone looking for quality furniture!

Roney's Furniture carries nothing but quality goods, well constructed, at reasonable prices. I always find something there. I have something from Roney's in nearly every room of my house. One room is all Roney's! And Bob even custom painted my bookcases. This is my go-to place for furniture and accessories.

One of my beautiful Canadel dinette chairs broke into 2 pieces. One piece was the back of the chair plus 2 back legs, and the other piece was the cushion plus the 2 front legs. The chair looked way beyond repair with most of the puzzle inserts all broken and one leg cracked. I hauled both broken halves into Roney's Furniture, because I wanted to make sure that we ordered a new chair that was an exact match for my existing set. Bill Roney scooped both of the broken pieces from my arms telling me that he will fix it to be stronger than new. I was shocked that it could be repaired. This

Without question the finest place to buy high quality furniture. Bob Roney and Team are just the best. Highly informed, great showroom selection and ability to custom order. Great customer service, delivery/set up. A very satisfying shopping and buying experience. No pressure and professional integrity. I wouldn’t think about shopping anywhere else!

I've done business with Roneys for years and always appreciated their expertise, friendliness and great service.
However, I have just experienced something that has changed my mind and means I will no longer be shopping there.
My decorator damaged a piece of furniture I purchased a couple of years ago through Roney's. I asked if Roney's could facilitate a return to the manufacturer for them to refinish (I would pay for transport and the refinishing, of course). Bob said that the manufacturer only sells the furniture, they do not refinish, and for $450 he would refinish it. He did

Big, funky warehouse stuffed with antique as well as modern furniture and interior design components ranging from upper mid-market to estate quality. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful staff; they make you feel like an expert even when you are not. Give yourself extra time to peruse the aisles. and fabrics; a truly unique selection that will make the most of any aesthetic. Lastly, be sure to take the time to appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry of the redbrick facade out front, it's a hidden gem.

Great place to buy quality furniture. Bob explained how good quality furniture is made. He recommended us to take our time and think about what we need. We ended up buying a solid oak wood dresser, it looks amazing. There is no sales pressure, there are no sale signs, they have reasonable prices for good furniture.

One of few remaining local family-owned furniture stores. Quality furniture brands offered at competitive prices, professional advice, including in-home consultation, knowledgeable and patient staff make themselves available without hovering or pushing. I was considering my first leather sofa and did a lot of online and in-store research on construction and pricing as well as manufacturers and dealers who will stand by their products. Roney's large showroom looks dated, and is mostly transitional, with some traditional and contemporary styles, but there are enough sample pieces and options

Wow! Amazing quality furniture with exceptional pieces! Customer service is great and prices are actually very reasonable considering the high quality and workmanship. These pieces will last forever and you will be proud to have them in your home. I found a sofa/sectional that was less expensive that the same one at a chain store. This is a true find. SO pleased with our purchase and the outstanding service we received. They are so helpful, and pricing is very reasonable. We bought a Canadel dining set, and there was a mixup with the chairs. Katie called within an hour to say she had already ordered the replacements and we could keep the others until they came in. No hassle delivery and just an all around great experience. Going back today to look for a sectional!

What a great store! Such beautiful pieces and a such a variety of styles from classic, modern and rustic. We have been very pleased each time we walk in and even when we walk away from something we found ourselves returning even weeks later because we couldn't get a piece out of our minds until we bought it. the furniture is on the higher end but totally worth it! i know we will have these treasures for a lifetime. I y wouldn't think of going anyplace else but Roney's. Service, selection and the opportunity to wander around without being hassled. I've been coming to Roney's for nearly 20 years, returning just recently after relocating and wanting to buy new furniture. Bob and Kate Roney are just the best. You'll get honest, integrity and a fair deal. The sell "quality merchandise" and have years of knowledge to back it up.

I've used Roney's for several furniture purchases during the last 10 years. The warehouse is jammed full of furniture. Always fun to wonder through.
Roney's is my go to store for furniture. They have helped me find one of a kind pieces, something another store had for a big discount and helped me look through dozens of books for items I was in search for. The sales staff is there when you need them but also understands the fun of looking through the warehouse uninterrupted.

It is hard to imagine a better place to shop and buy furniture. Over the least couple of years, my wife and I have purchased a large sectional couch and dining table with chairs. In both instances, the shopping experience was superb, unrushed and with pristine expertise. Since, we have broken the dining table glass a couple of times, and all we have to do is call Roney's and they order new tops to be custom ready in just days.
These folks are real pros. Plus, this is the type of local, family-owned business that is hard to find these days. Shop Roney's!

Just got back from Roney's where we bought a Wesley iron bed.
Had looked on the internet and needed to see in person the possible finishes.
Katie helped us and the price we paid with tax and delivery/setup was about $150 less than what we could get via the internet.
So we bought it there, couldn't have been a nicer experience.

My husband and I are in the midst of buying a new home and stopped by here to look for a dining table set, bunk bed and some other furniture item.
We went to Roney's on a Sunday afternoon with our three kids (7, 8 and 10). We were the only customers in there; An older woman and man (I think they're the owners) were in the front office area and one Sales Lady was on the floor. The older lady did ask whether we'd need any help and I told her that we were just looking around for now...

We had a completely great experience at Roney's. I have been wanting a new bedroom set for years. I thought I wouldn't find exactly what I was looking for but Katie helped me find it. I wanted extra storage and a beachy look. They had a beautiful bed with drawers underneath. The wood and stain were perfect. She helped us customize and order the exact bed we were looking for.
One of the other things that my husband and really appreciated is that the furniture was made locally here in California, in the Modesto area. We try to not buy from China if at all possible.

The experience of shopping at Roney's, from beginning to end, was terrific. Katie was our salesperson, and she was very patient and helpful.
I always appreciate it when you can make "substitutions," whether it's in a restaurant or a retail establishment. My wife knew what she wanted, and Katie helped make sure she got it. The furniture was designed and custom-made to include our little changes.
The showroom is packed with great stuff, and the atmosphere is "no-pressure" all the way.

My parents just remodeled their house, and I helped my mom shop for furniture/decorate, and we purchased their couch, chair and ottoman, and two dressers from Roney's.
