Those brave enough to foray into the world of custom home building need to have an "A" game. Unfortunately, Circle H fell way short. Communication was lacking, specifically items in the spec pad for were missing, and quality workmanship for the most part, was absent. My friend, who is extremely understanding and knows that the COVID debacle affected some aspects of the build, finds no excuse for the poor quality and wishes they had never contracted with this builder.

We contracted Randy Humphries of Circle H Builders to build my wife and I's last home that we would spend the rest of our lives in. This was to be our dream home. Having built homes previously the design of this home included a lifetime of experiences and wishes that would make up the final home we where to have constructed. We met with Randy and from the first meeting everything was positive. One factor however bothered me, I asked Randy from the first meeting to walk the property with me. Randy will not come back and fix a few problems that I told him about over 2.5 years ago right after my house was built. He keeps saying that his guy is busy. I also used Randy to build a detached garage and he did not finish painting. He told me he wasn't sending anyone to come out and finish painting because he lost money on the garage. He is the contractor and he should manage it where he gets a profit. Its not my fault he lost money and I paid for a complete paint job.

Used Randy to build a brand new home in the upstate. Not a good choice. He may perform better closer to his home near Columbia. It's hard to blame him for the sub-contractor issues but what do you pay a GC for then? I would say his 2 biggest downfalls are his lack of communication and lack of organization. We have countless emails and texts explaining how we wanted things in our custom home but he had no way of keeping track of them in an organized manner. He would then do things his way and get mad at us for making him change it back. He needs a personal assistant to keep track of requests
