Services
Cox Tree Service will properly diagnose your sick trees to determine what treatments may be needed to restore their health and vigor. We understand that prescription without diagnosis is mal-practice and make it our priority to determine the true cause of your tree's decline. Proper diagnosis saves trees and saves tree owners from paying for unnecessary treatments.
If left unattended, certain insects can devastate a trees ability to carry out essential functions. Borers, chewing insects, and piercing or sucking insects can lead to serious decline or even death. Fortunately most insects can be controlled with foliar and soil sprays, pruning, and vascular injections.
In a rural forest setting, trees grow without much need for supplemental nutrition. Leaves and twigs fall to the ground and are decomposed into nutrient rich organic matter that is used by the tree for growth and maintenance. In contrast, trees growing in an urban setting typically lack the essential elements and nutrition necessary to maintain vigor.
Trees growing in a forest environment grow quite well with little or no pruning, but for trees growing in the urban landscape, tree trimming is a must. Trees growing in urban landscapes endure stresses not found in the forest setting and tree pruning is necessary to remove dead branches, improve tree structure and aesthetics, enhance vigor, and to maintain the safety of property and human life.
Tree removal in urban settings are the most challenging and demanding tasks for tree professionals. Technical tree removal requires the latest and safest equipment, experience in rigging and tree cutting. Protecting your home and our crew members is our number one concern during a tree removal. Our crew's goal is to leave a jobsite in better condition than before they arrived.

Used Cox Tree Service once as they were addressing a job with my neighbor and asked them to trim some limbs without any appointment and they did a good job. However, upon months later deciding to use them for some stump grinding it was a different experience. I have called and left 4 messages including my email for contact over course of 2.5 weeks and to date (3.5 weeks) no one has called me back or emailed me in reference to requested job. I have seen them working in expanding development across from ours in Mount Pleasant so I have visual confirmation that company is taking job assignments. At

Buyer beware! While Cox Tree Service may know how to take a tree down, they appear to have no concern for their loyal customers after receiving payment. I had two large trees taken down and the stumps ground. They did a nice job of tree removal, they were careful not to harm my house or garage or my neighbor's house and property. However, when they were done grinding the stumps, I questioned whether they were ground down far enough because there was quite a pile of wood chips and the gentlemen grinding could not show me how far down they were actually ground. He said just to let him

Earlier this year, I contracted with Cox Tree Service for stump grinding/removal and pruning of trees and they completed the work as requested and on schedule. I paid them in full on the day the services were rendered. Due to the quality of service that had been performed, I subsequently called Cox to discuss the possibility of using them for additional work. I probably called them eight times over the next few months but never received the requested call backs from the owner. Yesterday, he failed to show for an appointment that I had scheduled through their office. Sad but true. Hasta la vista

Hired Cox Tree Service to remove 21 Bradford Pear trees that lined our driveway. The team of four completed the removal, grinding, disposal and stump grinding in one day. They were hard working, get the job done right workers. More than fair price. Would recommend them. Other family members had them do pruning and removal before us, so they are winning all our business.

The worst tree service in town. I called them at least 5 times to simply get a quote on a medium sized job. If I was called back(which only happened 2 times out of 5 calls), I was told either that they would do a follow up call with an approx. date and time, or they provided a date and time. They did neither.
I can only imagine the run-around if you contracted them for actual work.
