FREELITE Inc began in Tucson in 1977 under the name "Desert Living." Seven friends from different parts of the country (I grew up in the Northeast) had been drawn to the Arizona in search of new opportunities. My partners and I were not businessmen-far from it. All of us in our twenties, we were well-educated but naive, with big ideas and varying levels of carpentry experience.

What an amazing expereince from begining to end! They are professional, responsive, patient ( I changed my mind a lot). They were not pushy, and listened to my concerns and made reccomendations. We had our over 40 year old skylights replaced by FREELITE Inc. this week. WOW doesn’t even cover it! The service was amazing, the guys made sure everything was covered to make sure there was no clean up on our… part. They were quick and did an awesome job. We had a 4x4 ft. replaced in the Kitchen, to what now has white glass with solar powered blinds to block out the light and it opens too, to let air in! We went from a 2x6 ft. In the dinning and living room. To, two 2x2 ft ones that again have solar power for the blinds and opening the windows for air. I can operate them from the

I loved my experience with this company. The owner, Chip, was super helpful and reliable and gave us the best price out of five bids. The three gentlemen who installed our door and windows were awesome. I believe their names are Doug, Eddie and Dylan. They made the whole process fun. They are professional but fun, charming and are great communicators. They worked hard and fast but also took the time to tell me everything they thought I should know regarding the products. Much better service than I probably would have received from a big company.

Freelite did an outstanding job at our home; we needed more light in the study; they came out to assess the situation and together the decided on the size and the location. This also necessitated some roof work (this was a flat roof). Their subcontractors were each efficient, pleasant, and diligent. The job was accomplished quickly and well and we couldn't be more happy.

Freelite does excellent work. Chip came out to look at my three skylights, all about 35 years old, and explained clearly and carefully what needed to be done to replace them and what my options were. What's great is not just that the prices were competitive with other companies. Rather, from the initial consultation to the installation to the follow-up with paint and drywall they were on time and explained everything clearly and effectively. Best of all, they did a really meticulous job. It also involved some drywall repair and paint in a very sunny north-facing Arizona room. Even small blemishes

This should be less than one star. These guys are horrible. Made appointment weeks in advance and they cancelled the day of, with no concerns. Hire at your own risk. I was able to find a higher rated company who actually apologized for My bad luck and had a technician out there for my original appointment with Freelite. Maybe I should have the Freelite guys give a call to learn how to properly run a business

Amazing company...the owner, Chip Marvin, personally came and measured for our new Dutch door. He and his staff kept me apprised of arrival, delivery, and installation dates. The install guys were just as professional and nice as Mr. Marvin. High quality product with high quality service...what's not to love???

We had the greatest experience using Freelite to replace a 12-foot sliding glass door to our back patio. The old slider was original to our mid-century home and we were a little nervous about choosing the right replacement. We received excellent advice on the type of window, the level of tinting, the locking mechanism, and every other aspect of the replacement, seamlessly integrating it all with our home and decor. Every aspect of the sale and installation was professional and Freelite's customer service was first class. We just love our new door! We highly recommend this company.

I would avoid this business at all costs. My experience consisted of the following:
- The salesperson, Tom, lied about the order deadline and delivery time. He said that if I placed my order on a Monday or Tuesday they would have my three windows by the following Monday or Tuesday. The order was placed midday Tuesday. Tom emailed a week later, when I was expecting to receive the windows, saying that I had not supplied payment for the deposit by the deadline. He first lied saying the deposit was paid a day later than it actually was. I told him to check the dates on our email thread, at which point

I called for a quote on a skylight. Right on their website it say free estimates for skylight replacement. I was told on a phone 60.00 fee. I said it is free on your website. If you change the rules change your website. Then I was told I am mistaken that is for windows. Well not it wasn't. I have done business with you in the past . Not anymore. Keep your estimated because you are problematic just too expensive and that is why you now need to charge for free estimates.

We've used Freelite on all our windows and doors for 15 years. The latest installation was typical. Chip took the time to design to find the perfect Pella windows for our mid-century modern house, preserving all of the architectural lines that define our home. The installation crew with Matt and Tony was impressive, from the fit and finish to the timing and cleanup. I've priced windows from other companies, but I've always chosen Freelite. And I've always been happy with the result.

I requested a consultation on line for French doors. No one called, sent an email or anything. Their web site and their actions are complete opposites. If they cannot help you or do not have the product you asked about at least they should say something like: "We appreciate your interest on our business. Unfortunately we are unable to help you at this time."

The Freelite people were great! If they said Friday, they were here on Friday at the exact time they said they'd be here. They kept the dust and the mess to a minimum and left the living room in mint condition. And the men who came to put the finishing touches on the job were absolute artists. Everyone did beautiful work. And we couldn't be happier!

My husband and I have used Freelite services for several projects in our home including skylights, total replacement of all our windows and exterior doors, including a decorative front door, plus specialty indoor room doors and closet doors. Every project was completed on time and in the manner expected. We have referred several of our neighbors to Freelite and have heard great comments from them after also using Freelite for windows and doors. We had Home Story come out to give us an estimate on replacing 2 sets of closet doors. We wanted the white wood framed mirrored kind. The estimate was approx. $2100 for 2 sets of doors. We emailed the installer the next day to ask if we could get a discount if we did 6 sets. Never heard back. We drove to the Phoenix showroom to see the doors in person and asked the same question. He promised to get back to us. So far it has been 2 weeks with no answer. Meanwhile we found we can order the same doors from Home Depot for $275 per set--and the Home Depot mirrors are beveled! Fantastic experience from start to finish! We replaced ALL of our windows and added a few new ones. Josh came out to do the estimate. He was on time and very helpful. There weren't any high-pressure sales tactics (like I experienced with the other two estimates I got from different companies). I went with Freelite because of the honest dealings with Josh.
