If moving within 90 days, please call to confirm availability before submitting a request. During peak periods response time may be significantly delayed. The dates marked in RED are only available for smaller moves. The guys went the extra mile, asking repeatedly if they could help me as I moved some stuff to my car, or out of my car.
We consider moves to be "local moves" when both the origin and destination are within 100 kilometers of Ottawa's City Hall, based on the fastest route. The charges for a local move will incorporate a standard hourly charge for travel time at the contracted rate. Travel time is to cover the cost of getting the crew to the job, refuelling, and returning to the office at the end of the job.
We facilitate moves to or from the Greater Ottawa Area within Ontario. We consider any move that starts or ends more then 100 kilometers from Ottawa's City Hall to be a long-distance move. Pricing for these moves is based on an hourly rate for loading the contents onto the truck and then offloading at the destination plus a flat rate charge for travel time.
The most expensive part of any long distance move is usually the cost of travel for the moving crew. The travel cost is the portion of the overall moving cost that pays for the movers, truck, fuel, motel, downtime, and any other costs that the moving company may incur during the trip. Different moving companies have different ways of passing on this cost to the customer.
First Rate Movers schedules weekly trips to the greater Toronto area. These include destinations in Mississauga, Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough and many other locations. We also deliver to Brockville, Kingston, Belleville, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering and other towns along the 401 corridor to Toronto.
