I have been leasing with Volvo for almost three years now. I love the vehicle and I have only encountered a few issues with it throughout the duration of the lease. The sales and finance team were awesome, but the service department under Jim's leadership really has no clue how to take care of their customers, which is a real shame.

I recently took a day off work and took my Volvo in for routine service. I left it at the dealer since I was told it would take all day and I would receive a call later in the evening for pickup. There were two small issues with the gas cap and sunroof that needed

Best sales department of any brand, worst service department of any brand.
My XC40 had to have the rear bumper replaced. The body shop took the car for a sensor calibration. The service department did not mention any problems. The car has a "blind spot service required" status. The Fairfax Volvo service department tried to play dumb saying that there are parts missing and never mentioned that the service required warning came up.
The body shop had to bring the car back to them 2 weeks after the initial "calibration". It is 3 days later and Volvo Fairfax does not have any

So I had arranged to make an out of state purchase of a CPO car, spoke with the sales man, agreed on the price, submitted the credit application, authorized a $1k deposit on my Credit card and completed the CC auth form and even added the car to my insurance as directed. I was told to hang tight and would most likely get a call on Monday or Tuesday, as this was Friday night, from the finance people to take care of everything. The salesman told me on the weekends there's only one finance person so it's unlikely they will get to my application at a time.

I had been a customer at Don Beyer Volvo in Sterling since the purchase of my car back in 2016, just because of close proximity to my house...however, I have always felt ripped off and spoken to like I am an idiot there.
I decided to trek a little further to Fairfax Volvo and met Phi. He is a God send. He was honest, worked with my needs (timeline, budget, etc) and finally got my car fixed. Every staff member at Fairfax treated me with kindness and did all they could to help me during my experience. I am so glad I gave them a try!

This review is solely on the Service Department.

If you have a Volvo, don't take it here for service. If you do take it here for Service, expect for them to not be able to fix the problem quickly and, if you are really lucky, you may even get it back damaged.

Shortly after purchasing my car, I had to take it in for service because I received a notice that the battery was low (apparently they didn't do a full charge before handing it over to me) and the Volvo On Call app wasn't working correctly and none of the remote features worked. This dealership nickels and dimes. They will make you drive back to the dealership and pick up your license plate, as opposed to mailing it to you like every other dealership in the world. Even with this big inconvenience, they don't even put it on for you when you get there. It's too bad, because the people who work there are very nice, but it's clear that ownership is greedy SOBs.

Just bought a car and had a good experience with the sales staff. Good selection and got a good deal.

Problem is only half the employees in the indoor sales office were wearing masks. I complained to the manager and most put masks on, but when I went to another building to compete the purchase, same problem. Buying a car shouldn't involve unnecessary exposure to coronavirus. I recommend people stay away from this place until they start adhering to Governor Northam's executive order requiring masks in indoor spaces.

Dishonest rip-off service department. My wife had been taking her car there for years, only to find out they have been ripping her off. Every time we took the car in it cost us anywhere from $1500-$2500. The last time for a scheduled service around 120K miles they said she needed new brakes an rotors at a cost of $1700. I took the car to Pep Boys and they inspected the brakes and said there was nothing wrong with the brakes.

This Volvo S-80 has had more total cost of ownership than any other vehicle we have ever owned. For a supposed luxury car not so much. My wife will be looking for a

Dishonest. Dishonorable. Incompetent.

Dropped my car off for routine maintenance. Constant lies and overcharging. Racist threats. Worse than Don Beyer, and I left Don Beyer for their lies and overcharging. I had to follow up any time I wanted to hear about my car. At the end, they charged thousands to make my car substantially worse than it ever was. THEY WILL LIE, TAKE LOTS OF EXTRA MONEY, AND GIVE YOUR CAR BACK IN MUCH WORSE CONDITION!

The sales staff is hard to get in touch with and after reaching out for 5 days I finally was able to get in touch with Tim, the sales manager. This car was going to be a birthday present and was chosen from many miles away. I waited 8 hours for him to reply after I said I wanted the car and I gave my personal info. He finally called me back- 8 hours later- just to say the car had been sold while he was in a meeting. I would have been happy to put down a deposit- but I was never told I needed to. I went into Fairfax Volvo for a routine car repair and left after buying a 2019 Volvo XC60! Toni Jackson and Bryan Rickerson were instrumental in my decision to buy. Specifically, Toni was extremely knowledgeable in showing me the features of the car and helping me decide between the XC60 Momentum and XC60 Inscription. Bryan made sure that I was aware of all the post-purchase options relative to long-term car care and service options. Never heard back from salesman after I made an offer to his "what can you pay for car?" email to me. Since then I've received numerous form emails from the general manager, one of which I replied to explaining how I haven't been replied to by the salesperson.....no response from the general manager to that except for, you guessed it, more form emails. I'll be buying elsewhere and avoiding this place like the plague.

I had a great experience with Wayne Smith as our Volvo sales rep-dealer. Dealt with them once before and it was good but this time it was even better. Mr. Smith did not give us the car salesman pitch which we appreciated. We told him what we needed and he worked with us from the get go, down to the delivery of the vehicle. Once again, I had very poor maintenance & customer service at Fairfax Volvo ... actually, after 2.5 hours, with a scheduled appointment for a low level routine 70,000 mile checkup, I had no service on my car at all, or as a customer. The worse part of all of this, they were so disrespectful of my time that they didn't bother to inform me that they had not begun the service (2.5 hours after my scheduled appointment). I had to find my service coordinator for an update rather than him coming to update me.

I would think that someone from management would have contacted me and inquired

Car sales sure have changed. We've purchased three vehicles from Rosenthal and we were trying to buy a fourth.

We did all the research had our loan from our bank, trade in and a down payment.

When it came time to buy, no deal. Sticker price minus $1000 that they listed on their home page as "internet price." When I asked about the Volvo customer loyalty discount ($1000) the sales manager said that was the same thing as the "internet price" so no more off the price. Which seemed kind of shady.

This is my second time purchasing a vehicle from Fairfax Volvo and it was even better than last. I worked with Timothy Wanamaker and Miriam Hassan. The most pleasant people to work with. The process was seamless and swift. I'm not one for alot of sale pitching and frills and these two truly kept it professional and informative. Rough start at the Fairfax Volvo service center. I made an appointment about a week and half ago to have the 60k service done on my S-60. I shopped around and was promised the best price here. Previously, I had gone to Don Beyer, and anything has to be better than that place.

I arrived at 7:45am for a 8:00 appointment (they open at 8:00). Apparently, the procedure here is that you line up in front of the garage doors prior to opening. I didn't know that, so I waited in a parking spot for the doors to open at 8:00. At 7:57 the lights came on. At 7:59 3 vehicles drive in and lined up at the

I have been a repeat customer at Vovlo and Manager Timothy Wanamaker sold me new car Lease with detailed agreement .
I paid extra for hitch restoration
- Volvo installed wrong size hitch and never replaced .
- Month after Lease started I received bill contrary to signed agreement.

Four messages to Timothy Wanamaker are unanswered . I anticipate legal action.

Though Volvo services and products are worthy, truthfulness and customer service are low.

Came in to test drive an S60 Volvo, as it fit within the category I was test driving against. Was helped immediately as the dealership had recently opened for the day and no one else was visiting at the time. Jonathan got my specs of what I was looking for and he decided to try something that had worked with others. I would drive and follow him and he would lead me. First time I had ever done that, but figured ok we'll give it a try.
Personally, it was disastrous! I like to drive fast, but driving over 80 in a brand new car on a test drive, was not making me feel comfortable. Because
