I posted an RFQ on Yelp and they asked me to call. Even though the RFQ contained enough information for other providers to provide a quote, City Lock required me to call them with more information. I ended up selecting a different provider. The other provider had to drive 45 minutes to help with my lock and City Lock was located in my area.

My dealer sent me to this guy because they trusted he would do a good job and he didn't disappoint. I called and he was able to help me over the phone. Apparently, the dealership wanted to charge me $180/hr for something that he was able to give me instructions on and took me 5 minutes to complete. I am so glad I called here first. As women, we often get taken advantage of in the automotive industry. I feel so empowered today! I am so grateful to this guy.

Jeff is great. So thorough and so quick! He helped me understand how the locks work, why they break, and even gave me a demonstration on the durability of the new lock he was making for me by trying to break a copy of it using a vice grip and a pliers and twisting attempting to twist it apart. It didn't break. He charged me way less than the quotes I found online for a chip Honda Pilot key.

I couldn't have had a better experience! Jeff was so kind and worked on his day off to find the code for my key from GMC to make a new one. It was not an easy task and he was very patient. The cost was half of what i was quoted from others to come out and do it. He said i could just come down the road to the shop and it would be cheaper. This is a business that cares and really takes pride in their work. Thank you Jeff!

I visited to have two keys cut and programmed to my vehicle. The owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He really knows his craft. Cutting and programming two keys took about 20 minutes. I would take his advice on not buying your keys online. Mine did work but after talking to the owner I can see how many would not work. My only complaint is that the Google page shows Citylocks service hours. The retail location actually closes at 2:00 PM

After some criminals stole my car just weeks after the back end was bashed in I had to live with one key for years because these heinous people went on a joy ride and tossed my spare key.
We called and visited several key people with no results.

The only key for my Nissan wore out and I didn't have the code for the key. Other locksmiths couldn't solve the issue and offered me to replace every lock on my car. Another locksmith in Boulder told me to go to city lock since they are the expert. Jeff looked at my key and tried to figure out the code of it. Then he made a new key which worked. He solved my 1000$ problem for literally 40$. He is definitely an expert at what he does. He is also very kind and helpful.

I went to replace my key fob....the $200.00 kind!!
Jeffrey, the owner, said "let's just try a little cleaning inside" where the battery contacts are. He put in a new battery just to be sure.
Now, here's my favorite part....works like new!!
Refused to charge me anything...not even for the battery!
I asked him how he could afford to do that......he said" I need to do the things for my customers that Amazon can not do!

Replaced the case for the key fab to my car that had broken, at a lower cost than I would have ever found at a dealer. Even got a free battery replacement with it.
That being said, it did take longer than it should have because they misplaced my order, then somehow the order didn't get placed. The cost is good, the service is friendly, and in my experience accurate, but it does seem that other reviewers may be accurate when mentioning need for improvement in organization.

The ignition lock cylinder on my Toyota wore out and it would not allow the key to turn so my truck was stuck. The dealership and my mechanic wanted between $700 and $1000 to replace the lock cylinder to remedy the problem. I called City Lock after getting these quotes. Jeff told me the answer is not to replace the cylinder but rather clean it and replace some internal piece. He could do it the next morning and with two replacement keys, full programming so that the door keys and the ignition all matched, he only charged $400!

Very helpful when I needed to have somebody figure out why my FOB wasn't working. Initially thought it would be a quick fix and after he had fixed it, didn't charge me. After we realized that it wasn't a permanent fix, he gave me a lot of good information and instead of trying to sell me something expensive that he wasn't sure would work, he made an appropriate referral the dealership. Very helpful, would highly recommend this business!

Happy to have found a locksmith in Boulder and would definitely recommend to others. Jeff was incredibly nice and helpful. It took him less than 5 minutes to unlock my faulty gas cap, and it became quite obvious to me that he really knows what he is doing. So impressed with the service here. I've been coming to City Lock for years, but last week I needed some work done for my truck on a Sunday before I left for a road trip (my bad procrastinating) and he showed up and was enormously helpful in rigging out some parts to make the locks work despite not having what was needed in stock. We lost one of the keys to our Toyota and after getting a quote from Boulder Toyota for $350 we looked for other options. There are lots of videos and forums about keys but in the end this model is not programmable without special tools. To save some money I bought a key online and thought I'd have it programmed. After trying a couple lock companies in town I called City Lock.
In the past I had a poor experience with a fly by night locksmith and was expecting more of the same here. Turns out the owner has been in business for a long time and has a deep knowledge of locks.
