I had an overall good experience with this company for installing solar panels on my roof. I believe we started talking in August 2021 and my panels were installed in early November. The hardest part of everything was figuring out how many panels to add for future needs, and to cover current needs. Price quote was very reasonable, and service was good. I was connected to SCE's grid about two weeks later with PTO.

We had our panels installed a couple weeks ago. On Friday we started having power outages. We contacted the rep Friday morning when we were without power. It is Saturday night and we still don't have power consistently. Solar max has not returned our messages. Power company came and assured us it is s problem with the panels. It is horrible to be without power, especially after a big investment. In addition, some of the work was done lazily making it not look nice. I will update the review if Solar Max fixes the problem. So far, the experience with this company has been very upsetting

I wanted to give Joe C a big thank you for fixing our panels and our electrical! He was so efficient he greeted us with a warm smile and immediately made us feel comfortable with his skills. I have been working with Chris Handzel over several years to try and get solar on my home. RPU rates are so low, that it was tough to make the switch. Today, I got solar installed. He was always friendly, and helpful every time I tried. Their service is impeccable. I needed a new electrical panel, and so they had to cut out my stucco to make room for the bigger panel. We recently used SolarMax for our solar. Brandon Mezzanatto was our sales rep and I have to say he was a great sales rep. He answered all of my questions and he is still there to answer questions. SolarMax's installed and got my solar system running very quickly. Very professional team and did a very clean install. Very happy with the whole process with them. I chose to go with SolarMax even though they were not the cheapest but had a good mix of the things I wanted. I'm half way through the process (design phase) and feel I made a huge mistake. I thought that by going with a smaller company I would receive, at a minimum, good customer service. I've sent over 3 emails to the project manager and sales rep in the span of around 2 weeks asking for a status update and they don't even have the courtesy to respond. Run away from this company. Choose a smaller local company or even Tesla which is cheaper than everyone and they have amazing

I've been a customer of Solarmax since 2009. Sales representative at that time was Ralph. You may ask why the 1 star if you've been a customer for so long. To be fair, Solarmax as far as installation and product is a good company, but what they lack on is their customer service and management. Since 2009 Solarmax has had the incentive program to refer a friend or family to them and they would give a referral check to the person referring. I have had two good experiences with this company 3 years apart. The first was for a project property (not personal residance) I found them on energysage.com, which I also highly recommend. This time around for my personal residence, I worked with Darvin, who is simply the best! I recently had my system installed by Solar Max 2 weeks ago. The process started in late January 2020. I was contacted by rep Pete Herrera since he was the one who signed up my neighbor. He explained everything in great detail. Did not feel pressured by him or the company at anytime.
The process went very smoothly. The company sends constant updates of the progress through email and they also call you with updates throughout the process. The process took 2.5 months because of permits and I also had them install a new 200 amp panel.
PTO from SCE only took 2 days to approve and my system is working

There are a lot of solar companies in California, and it's very hard to know which companies will actually do a good job, and actually stick around to serve you. Sales lady came to home and ran credit and said we good for 0 down and 520 a month for 5 years. We said ok and then solar max said no you need 5 k down one thousand now and 4 when matierals arive so we payed the 1 k down. then they said you have to put 10 thousand down afer we had a contract sighed and payment made. We did not have 10k so we said no and asked for money back that was 10-31-2018 to this date 1-18-2019 we have not recieved our money back. Buyer beware a switch and bait company

Great experience with Solar Max. Brandon Mezzanatto sold me my system in February 2014. He was very knowledgeable in solar overall. He answered all my questions, built me a system to meet my needs, and completed paper work involved with HOA and my tax refund! The people at SolarMax have been outstanding to us. I was very apprehensive about going solar, but the people at SolarMax made it easy to understand. They explained everything and showed me how to reduce my energy bill to near zero.
