I always wait about six months before I sit down to write a review for a services company. I like to make sure we know what to expect from the company in the event post-sale support is required. This job was completed in the spring of 2021, so I've had more time to think about the job and the company...
We met Ambient Solar as the installer/engineering company that designed and installed our rooftop solar system. Their services were re-sold through a partner, but this review is (mostly) not about that job. They also designed an upgrade to our HVAC system. I told them I wanted quality equipment

I had a positive experience with Ambient Solar. I researched 3 companies, (had 3 sit down visits) and I got the best interest rate on a 20 year loan from a Ambient verses a higher rate at 25 years from the 2 others.
The install was quick and professional. Net metering was discussed at length meaning the need to build up credits for the summer.
My bill has been the minimum hook up charge from NVE even with the 115 heat we had in June.
I'd recommend speaking with Ambient if you are interested in solar.

I have gone through 4 inverters. System always goes down in the dead of summer when the sun is at its peak. I’ve tried getting the system removed because it’s a complete LEMON, but you can’t unless you pay the whole thing off. Not worth the risk to pay over $25k for something that might work but might not for months at a time. It has been a nightmare. I think, in total, my system has been out of service for about 5 months. I don’t recommend solar AT ALL. It’s a scam. I don’t even save money. It actually costs me more to have the system.

These people go around our neighborhood offering solar power and promising so many add one just so you will get your solar power with them and after it is installed they leave you and they don’t fulfill any of their offers. I was offered by their representative that I will get free “ one year pre paid” solar bill, but after my solar panels were installed they are no where to be found. Please beware of these people TANG DOH and DANNY ADAMSON!!

Not happy with this company. I reached out for some pricing. They originally responded. A few weeks later, I reached out to them to discuss the pricing further. I was told that they will get back to me. They never did. So if they don't want to support you before the sale, do you think they will be there for you after the sale? Probably not.

WOW... I had done a lot of research with solar companies and this is the one I went with. I am so happy with their quality of work and every thing that was included with my install. They really treated me like family and if you just give me them a call for a quote, I am sure you will have a great feeling about them too.
Just have to add to this review. Over a year and a half later and their customer support is awesome. Over the weekend, David was emailing me documents need to sell my house. BEST SOLAR COMPANY to go with!!!

Worst experience ever. I live in an off grid area. They promised a solar system with battery backup that would last 3 days without sunlight or using my generator. Well 3 weeks in I can't make it through the night without running my generator or loosing power. I have called to complain several times. A year and a half later I can't get them to answer a phone call.
Update: Since posting we have had contact with Ambient and they are working to replace our batteries and correct our system. We're anticipating having our system working correctly very soon. This has been a major improvement over our

I am so thankful for Ambient Solar Energy. My 11 month son and I had been without heat for two days in the middle of winter. It was 48 degrees in my house and no one wanted to help us since they thought my solar panels were blocking access to my HVAC unit. I called Ambient Solar Energy in tears and they were at my house within an hour with space heaters to loan me while they figured out the issue. I came home to a warm house and fresh air filters. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude towards this kind, family-owned company who went above and beyond to help us in a desperate situation. Thank you

Warning !!!!!!! Before you contract this company to get your solar panels Installed in your house READ my review. We thought we were having a great experience with these people but once we got our panels installed two months went by then we received a bill from NVenergy of $121 for extra usage of kilowatts meaning this company did not provide me with enough solar panels in my home to cover my power usage. I called to see how they can make it right but all they said it's going to be happening until winter comes and my solar panels accumulate credit with Nevada power which was never notified
